Thank you all for your kind words, MYFIGO, that's fantastic, it would have been such a frightening experience, to be a tail gunner, so many were shot, and all they did was hose out the compartment so another can take their place.
Hi Sarian, yes i do go through periods when I just cannot paint, i also write songs and the same happens there as well, but I think its quite normal, with all artist.

Yes, I would think it was. Dad was about 18 when he joined up right after his mother died. He was shot down and suffered a broken back. Their plane was so new that it had not been painted and was a bright silver still. Only one other person in his plane survived. He spent 13 months in POW camp and told about crawling down the hallway to get cabbage and potato soup, their diet for a year. He didn't talk much about his experiences. It saddens me when I think of all the things our young men go through. I am so grateful for the sacrifices they and their families make to protect others.
Keep on painting, Robert. I truly believe that our gifts are how we heal others and ourselves. It's important that you allow your talent and love to be expressed freely.
