What really 'got u' that Jesus said that u apply

You know there are just some things that resonate with you more than anothers.
I have several - one is so smart, so wise and so true...don't cast pearls to swine ---lest you get trampled.

I super super took to heart do not worry, cast your cares. (I know I slip in Paul and James and stuff)
I'll go on and on later Ha!
You?

You can expound, also, in how much a sentence you followed changed you if you want!!!
Gosh, we might go off topic and even bring in a verse from the Old T, too.
Go long!! Go wild with this!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.

for me nothing in the bible really got me, it was people in the church, like thomas merton, saint francis, saint benedict, saint bernadette, mother teresa, saint jude, saint john of the cross, the girl i knew who became a nun, some nuns i knew, some monks i knew, some priests i knew, some amazing things i felt on religious grounds.

this one christian community i went to as a kid, i have no idea where i was or why my parents were there, i was very young, i was just aware it was some christian community, but when i stepped out of the car, boom, it was a silence i can't put into words, it was felt in the core of my being, something so holy and indescribable. it was tangible there like standing in jello. so many others.

the bible seems messy to me. some parts great others like what! it would be cool if we knew who wrote every line in the bible. how many different writers were there? i think some of clement of alexandria's words are in the bible somewhere. he was like a religious and philosophy genius.

i will say at the doctors office i went to as a kid they had this illustrated bible and i loved the pictures of adam and eve, noahs ark, all that stuff. the pictures were awesome. took me into a another world

one time i was visiting a benedictine monastery and i met with the abbot and we walked around awhile talking then we parted and i went back to my retreat room. later in the day, i saw him out my window with a young attractive girl walking and talking with her, she looked around 18 and i thought, wow this is weird why is there a young girl here? it was a male monastery and so no females allowed most everywhere.

later i ran into him and i asked about the girl, and he said she was terminally ill and was expected to die within the month. i don't know why, but it sure moved me. i mean he showed no fear of death, he was so at peace within and gave that girl some of his peace and strength. one of the priests jobs is to sit with the dying and to comfort them and their families. amazing thing really. takes so much love and compassion and inner strength. i don't think i could do it. i'm really empathetic, too empathetic, i feel things in my gut and body. i would just cry all the time if i tried to do that job and be upset. even in emotional movies like "lion" i can barely handle it, i feel it like in the back of my throat. the ending of the movie "lion",: guaranteed to make you cry or sob even.

Hi Miss H thanks for the topic. I have never read the Bible much. Just took it in parts from church growing up. Or a few choice paragraphs now and then. Thanks for the reminder not to worry and cast your cares. I need more of that. It seems the main message for me in this life.

A friend helped me by telling me about the 23rd psalm when we discussed our fears of evil. It is very helpful whenever I fall into fear of being helpless in the face of evil. A reminder to know that I am not alone. This is the shortened version that works for me:
Though I walk through the valley of in the shadow of death, thou art with me.
At one point I realized that everything Jesus said was a command, in the present moment. An invocation creating presence of God and calling forth an aspect of that power. And realized I could share the moment when Jesus called forth his own resurrection with the words:
I am the resurrection and the life
More recently in the past couple of years I started contemplating the Lord's Prayer before sleep and immediately upon awakening. One line at a time slowly. Each line flowing with in-breath and out-breath. And each line as a command calling forth aspects of the collective salvation and creation of heaven on earth. We join together and share in that experience.

King James Bible. Luke 17:21....
Neither shall they say, Lo here or lo there, for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Recently Luke 18;17...."you must be like a little child to enter the kingdom of heaven" has been a wake-up call for me. It sobers me to think that all my efforts to interpret scripture should consider a new starting point or a fresh look......let my ego and pride in the intellect to take a back seat perhaps....

I like this one, though admittedly, I am not very much like it.

Luke 23:-
33When they came to the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on His right and the other on His left. 34Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up His garments by casting lots.

P.S. I believe it's the pearls that get trampled not you. You get torn to pieces. Dough!

Matt 7:-
6Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

Anyway, Sis stole mine first one.
