Good thinking. Like even i think that we loving God out of free-will is better than God controlling our actions towards loving him. But we can ask God to influence our emotions. In Hindu story Ramayana, an associate of God asked for boon from God that he develops love/devotion for God. I think after his wish was granted he must have used his free-will to love God. For now: I say "May God's will be done." and i also request God to guide me.
