Question for reiki healers!
Just wondering if some of you went through something major after getting attuned to reiki 2 or 3 like an emotional crisis, spiritual awakening, leading to a major transformation that increased your abilities. I guess this question may pertain mainly to reiki masters. This happened to me after reiki 3. Im not sure if I would have the healing/psychic abilities today if I didnt go through what I did. I guess you could call it a "dark night of the soul".

Indeed. Especially after reiki 2 for me. It was an emotional upheaval that can't be put into words. After my master level I went through a deeper spiritual transformation with Holy Fire Reiki. Very very profound and healing.

You'll keep getting a lot of those as you grow spiritually - no matter what path you follow. It's the normal progression of growth, but be careful not to follow the emotions for long as it takes you the wrong way.

Reiki 1 brought up a lot of emotional stuff for me. I had a horrible 2013 and took my first Reiki course early 2014. I was just coming back into spirituality and suspect Reiki unblocked a lot. It was a major shift for me. I took Reiki 2 six months later and didn't go through any noticeable emotional shifts.

Did this increase your healing/psychic abilities? I suppose things have calmed down fo you since and you are at a peaceful place.

I guess that would be true but i think it is more profound for healers since in order to heal, you need enormous amounts of empathy and wisdom and so must heal yourself first. But what do you mean by not following the emotions for long?

Glad to see some responses here. I guess I did not know what I was in for in a way. No book out there on reiki talks about these things per se. I dont have many people to discuss these things with. I do know of 2 people who did all their reiki levels but are not actual healers. Although they have some difficulties in their life they have no been through a major transformation. My reiki master was very much in her ego. Again, she had difficulties in her life but did not go through a profound spiritual transformation. Probably the reason she is still in her ego. I do know of healers that I have been to for sessions and they were all born with the gift. They dont practice reiki but other modes of healing.

from my practice, there are two things - the feeling of love, peace and joy through the heart and the emotions such as anger, frustration, getting emotional, negativity. Emotions that have been built up within us are negative in nature. The feeling of love, peace and calmness is found deep within our heart.
as we continue to heal, there will be times of negative emotions releasing. that's a normal process. sometimes you'll even have times of extreme physical pain, which means that's a very huge block that we haven't released. it's important to release them and yes, it can make us cry, sneeze, burp, fart, scream, want to kick etc., and it's ok that it comes up, but don't follow them more serious ones such as constant crying, screaming, kicking. it's not good and that means we're following negative emotions which is not a part of spiritual growth.
spiritual growth, for me, is when the heart expands and the love, peace and joy fills not only me, but radiates beyond me, beyond the earth, beyond the universe, beyond existence.

Yes I agree. It seems like we have to know our emotions anyway to know ourselves and our inner wisdom. Sometimes though I think the negative episodes are never ending though because it is so hard to get past it. I get to a place of peace for a while only to fall back again.
