Yes, WS, I agree that most peoples visual concept of hell came from Dantes play, but I do believe the idea of being punished for our wrong doing, being judged for what we do here on this side of the veil goes back further then Dante...??

I hear you........

I was in hell once and it was awesome. The only thing was is that we were all knee deep in excrement! Other than the smell it wasn't so bad.
But then it all went bad when a large alarm went off and a voice came over the loudspeaker saying "OK... BREAK IS OVER! EVERYBODY BACK ON YOUR HEADS!"

That was the first "bad" joke I ever heard and re-told.



That was in 1960 and I was in 3rd grade.

Well I think most of it is true, but these concepts of eternal hell punishment that have crept into many bibles, ( because some newer versions have deleted hell complettely) I don't believe in eternal hell punishment and consider the scriptures on them to be either mistranslated or incerted by the translastors.
