I Remember not wanting to be born, and being aware of spirit as soon as i was born ,
So death has never been a fear that I have,
but I can relate to people who do fear it,

What part of life did you not like or want when you were thinking of not wanting to be born?

I embrace that the fear of death is rooted in different things for different people. I think the most popular may be people fearing that they may not exist anymore once their physical body dies, Second to this may be religious beliefs that may instill the fear of death in some; of course religions tell people that you are “saved” if you follow their theology.

When I was a counselor I had a patient with combat-related ptsd and he feared death because he had killed lots of people as a soldier in a war. He was a steadfast Bible verse Christian, and felt he was going to hell because he had taken life. He was suffering from his beliefs and no amount of telling him it was time of war made any difference. He was afraid of what was going to happen to him when he died.

I was a medic in a war and I am grateful that I did not have to take life and did everything I could to heal others; I have a lot of empathy for those who were faced with a kill or be killed situation. I value my human life enough to protect it, but you know now it is my experience that my own inner light protects me when I send my attention deep within. It protects me in this world and I have no doubt that it will also protect me in the transition which we call “death.”

I have Lived many life times and have seen so much .being born into this life time has not been easy.
because of my ability to connect and see spirit I was called all names told I needed psych evaluation you name it I was called it,
I grew up knowing that I wasn't good enough for my family yet I was the first to go to college and get a Diploma.
My younger sister was doted on so was my brother my eldest sister had more affection than i did,
I used to say from an early age that i was here to suffer for everyone else and I would NEVER have chosen my family who ridiculed me for my gifts told me I was lying because they couldn't see spirit

my mother was the worse she hated me and i hated her in return, i ran away from home and went to live with my grandmother who did understand me.
That is why I do not understand when people say we choose our parents before we are born, to me that could is so far from the truth to be real.

Very honest and heartfelt sharing Native spirit . I can relate because I also came out of an abusive family who ridiculed me and did not care whether I lived or died. That is most likely why I became a high achiever, because I felt a strong need to prove something.

I have had to do a lot of work on my myself, not only because of the impact from my military experience but also from growing up in an unhealthy family. The work which I have done on myself over many decades, transformed me.

In the past I was very bitter but I have come to terms with a lot of my past, and today I forgive my mother and siblings, even though they are no longer here on Earth, I forgive them in my heart. I suffered greatly due to my family of origin here on earth but in a strange way their ignorance imposed on me pushed me to seek out a deeper experience.

I have shared here on this forum how I lost my eyesight and was totally blind for about 5-years, only regaining my eyesight after more then a dozen eye surgeries. When I lost my eyesight in Vietnam I called my mother from Japan and told her. Her response to me was “please don’t bother me with your problems.” It hurt to hear my mother say that.

I had a lot to work through and I am still working through stuff. For me, that is the value of human life; that in spite of the darkness you do what you can to let your own innate light shine. Fear can be a killer of love, and when it comes to spiritual matters I have experienced nothing but love and deep inner peace in spite of the rough road traveled early in life.

In my opinion parents and siblings are on a spiritual journey just like me and everyone else, they do not always share love with their children. I would have rather not had the family which I was born into but having worked as a social worker with abused kids I know it could have been a lot worst for me.

I also feel like a lot in my life was preplanned in the afterlife before I was born, although I do leave some room for free-will. In my opinion, total free will without fated events would be like total predestined events without free-will. I feel like both coexist simultaneously.

I can definitely see how my human infancy played a major role in my human adulthood. It is conditioning on many levels. Constant change taking place in stillness. Meditation in motion. They can be problems or they can be challenges which have the potential for inner growth.
