What does this dream mean if it keeps recurring?

As a 4-5 year old, I had a recurring dream of a no faced black hooded cloaked person following me in the forest, but it stopped when I took off the hood, to see it looked like an angel. What does this mean?

Thank you! 💜🌌🌠

What do you feel, sense think it might mean yourself?

First, let's state the obvious. It's remarkable that you can remember a series of dreams from when you were four or five with any sort of clarity. The fact that they were nightmares may be the reason why you remember them, because they stood out to you and scared you. As to what they mean or might have meant is up to you. May I ask the reason for exploring a series of childhood nightmares? Are you still occasionally having them or just curious about the repetitive imagery?

Such dreams at such a young and impressionable age could have come about for so many different reasons, from a TV show to something you read or heard. It's hard to tell. Dream interpreters may be able to help you point the way, but as the dreamer, and the one who knows yourself best, perhaps only you can unravel that.

Thank you for responding to my post.

I was neglected and abused from my Mother and was also put in the foster care home at the age of 2. But she was still allowed for me to visit her on weekends by the social services.

She was still abusing me, so she only was allowed supervised visits. My childhood in and out of Foster homes. But around age 4-5, I would sneakily go watch a horror movie like Poltergeist and beetlejuice etc.

So I don't know if that plays a part of it. But every night I would be scared to go to bed, because of that Black cloaked person with no face. Was scary, especially being followed in the woods.

I don't really know, maybe fear?

Because as soon after a series of the same black cloaked hooded person with no face for a long time, I had enough and took the cloak off and couldn't believe that I was running away from an Angel face person all that time and they gave me a lovely Angelic smile.

After that, I never had that dream ever again and I am 35 now, suffering from Autism, panic attacks and possible dissociative identity disorder.

Thank you for responding to my post.

Hmm, turned into an angel, eh?
I'd say that your subconsciousness is telling you your fears are made up,
thus, evaporated into the nothing that they are!

(This is not negating your tough childhood, my friend.
It was there for you to learn from...a blessing in disguise.)

Yes, I hope it was a blessing. Online it did say something about fear, but that I got to face them.

It was a traumatic time in your life and an uncertain one. Moving in and out of various foster homes could easily have caused anxiety and a fear of the unknown because of the great deal of uncertainty in your life at that time and not knowing who to trust or where you would go next. The hooded figure sort of represents that following you around as you navigate your way through the woods. That is how you were feeling at the time and your subconscious mirrored that feeling back to you.

Yes, I was searching up online about it, and that a black cloaked person with no face in dreams means uncertainty/unknown. It seemed to be a continuous dream every night.

I appreciate your response and explanation, because what you said says pretty much exactly that.
