Buddha and Christ basically preached one and the same thing. - Love.

BTW, Beinsa Douno is also a great teacher of Love. I've been reading Beinsa Douno's lectures for about 20 years and there is no lecture where he didn't touched the subject of Love (not the human love which can change, but the Divine one.)
If a religion is not about "Love, brotherhood, and sisterhood" it is not from God, it is not a true one.

Divine Blessings

Just be careful not to put Buddha on a pedestal like they did with Jesus, or I'll kick him off lol.

Buddha taught about a lot more than just 'love' !

If you're seriously interested in Buddhism, please spare a little time to have a look at the suttas and other information on this website.

Thank you, I am sure he talked about many other things, but most of the other things He spoke about come from Love.

Love is very important. It is part of the compassion wing. Through love we become free from the limitations of self-centred existence. The more we love others, the more our selfish minds will dissolve and we shall realize a far greater reality. Love is the foundation, it purifies our minds to gain wisdom

Im not sure what you mean by "Love" because the word has many interpretations. Perhaps you mean 'Metta' ? (see link below)

kind regards

Yes, metta (love or loving-kindness) is true love in Buddhism. It is the wish for all beings to happy - without any bias or wanting anything in return. Ordinary love is normally polluted by grasping and clinging - we want something back from the people we love. But metta is like the sun shining on all beings - it simply gives.

My understanding is - compassion is part of Love.
Love is the most important. The lack of love has led (and it still leading) to many mishaps including wars.

It just depends on your classification. The Buddhist traditions more commonly speak of the compassion wing and the wisdom wing, and include love under the compassion wing. In some meditations, first you develop love (the wish that others be happy), then compassion (the wish that others be free from suffering), then bodhichitta (the wish to become a Buddha in order to free them from suffering).

But other traditions classify love or metta first, and have compassion or karuna as what happens when metta sees suffering. It doesn't quite matter how it's classified, just that it's important that we develop altruistic minds.

Just sharing . In my current understanding Buddhism is a process to know ownself by being awake , is a realization to advance .
All being are living in concert , in own will , own journey freeling from own awareness that formed ' a self" . In this process ,all our action , re-action will be part of own learning lesson so being compassion , love will help us move on in our journey and being bad will makes us regret and suffer of own action .
As I have 2 option whether to take a smooth / highway by giving sincere compassion / love or a rockly / long / suffering road by being bad as both path will always be my own learning process .

There is no right or wrong , no good or bad and no true or false in Buddhism as all action or re-action is an option for learning to free ownself .

Buddhism is not about compassion or ill feeling .Buddhism to me is all about learning to be free of all ..to be empty , to be pure , to be Buddha.
