Nobody here is really qualified to give medical advice, hon. You need to see your doctor about all that.

Mostly you'll get suggestions that yeah, it's obviously an allergy of some sort but Idk about the numb lip, lol...and first day on any job's bound to be stressful and nerve-wracking, allergies I guess could be caused partly by being nervous and under stress.

If you put the benadryl between your lips and held it there while you were getting a glass of water, then the pill might have started to dissolve a bit and you lips might be numb from the benadryl. Some pills have that ability.

It would be best to call a doctor. No one here can give good advice.
How ever I found someone on yahoo answers who had a similar effect:

I dont really want to give medical advise, but I can give advise about the housekeeping job. Does your work provide masks and gloves? If not I suggest you invest in them for your own good. Gloves help protect against bacterias and chemical reactions and masks help eliminate bacteria-carrying dust particles. If your prone to sinus then the dust you stir up even with the vacuum cleaner will affect your sinus's.
