preparation for Reiki

Hi puggy
Yes definately Reiki stirs up repressed emotions but only in people who are more heart centered than intellectual ones.
Can you please elaborate how many people would be there,is it a retreat ?
My Reiki master never allows more than 12 persons in a group for Reiki level 1 initiation.
Being vegetarian and sober helps in the flow of energy .

just relax. the less you expect to happen, the better the energy flows. tensing blocks us from receiving.

I recall we were given advice pre the course, it was a maximum of 12 people too. We were advised to refrain from alcohol prior to and during the course. Emotionally, it can bring up suppressed emotioms. It not a good idea to do the course if you are unwell yourself, particularly if you suffer from emotional problems like Depression or other mental health issues..

It was suggest to us to have light meals and wear light loose clothing..
The reason being that part of the teachings relate to the positions of the hands and the reletive chakrahs.. We were also advised not to wear any perfumes or colognes...and to abstain from smoking, garlic etc for a while. The reason being that sometime a fragrance signals spiritual presence.

You will open up to spirit during this course...you will meet your guides and healers who will assist you.. and it will change your life...for the better I might add.. Go with an open mind and prepare to be amazed...

Congratulations Puggy for your upcoming Reiki class!

Star Wolf Medicine Woman brings up some very valid points. Being a vegetarian, I wasn't concerned about the meals as much. If you are a meat eater, I suggest you reduce meat consumption the week of your Reiki class. Make sure you drink a lot of water that week too. It is very important to stay hydrated! Take some water and some non salted nuts with you. My class was all day, so my master told us to pack a light lunch. She had some vegetables, fruits, and nuts to snack on.

Comfortable clothing is a must. Also, wear socks as you will probably be barefoot. Keep an open mind and open your heart at the class. Let the energy work with you, instead of against you. You'll be ok.

Thank you all so very much. I'm actually looking forward to the emotional release. I feel it will help me progress.

The restrictions won't be a problem for me. I enjoy alcohol but have stopped as it changes the way I feel the following day - even 1 drink

Also I have cravings for fruit and veg, not meat - so that's a result too.

I don't smoke either. I think the biggest hurdle is the aftershave.

Wow, I am really looking forward to it. It feels like I'm gonna have a weight lifted from my shoulders rather than learning, getting something I've been craving for - Does that make sense?

Perhaps we should point out that when you take your first Attunement, prepare to be amazed.. I know I was totally blown away by my experience..
I was so amazed, I had to wait a couple of hours before I could drive home safely...
Another factor you might like to be aware of is that you may experience a kind of Emotional healing crisis yourself about 4 days after.. Its a bit like a cleansing, you may get headaches, some get spotty, feel tired and exhausted... all this will quickly resove, just drink lots of plain water and take a light diet.. You are on the verge of something truly amazing which will change your life for ever if you choose to embrace it and practice it for the good of all..

You have set your intent so Reiki is already with you. It sounds like you are doing the right things. Be kind to yourself for a few days afterward. Your body might need to adjust to the higher vibration from Reiki attunement.

Let us know how it goes!

Hello all, I had my Reiki 1 & 2 in a day. I really enjoyed it and felt the energy from everyone. So pleased I went.

Then, came the evening - I started to feel dizzy, the room started spinning like nothing I have ever experienced. I felt sick so I walked to the toilet but couldn't walk or even stand as it felt like I was on a small boat in a storm. I had to crawl to the toilet. I was violently sick for 24 hours, not even keeping down water.

It's now my second day. I am no longer sick but still don't feel quite right. I feel sick but not been sick. Also feel very disorrientated.

I spoke to the others who all seem just a little rough but nothing to what I am going through.

What I have noticed is how my senses are really open. I sat on a train and could smell what people had to eat, if they'd been drinking alcohol, who smoked etc. The slightest cough or sneeze from someone made me cower from the germs - it was crazy.
