Understanding Truth

What can the Bible teach us about truth ? What symbols does it use ? Results of knowing the truth…impediments to truth… verses….thoughts…everything….:). If we spend much time on evil maybe truth deserves attention……

As they say….”Alright let’s get the auction started !”. First out of the gate is this verse: “I am the way, the truth, the life”. I like the order of that. Does not the way provide the direction ? It points to the truth….which we want to understand. It leads to the life. There is an implication of each of these 3 that we do not actually understand what they really mean.

All sacred writings contain an inner and outer meaning. Parables and koans are examples. In Scripture the outer meanings express literal truth. Within each parable or scripture there is an inner meaning that expresses a psychological or spiritual truth or meaning. They are veiled as an invitation to think for ourselves in order to have inner development. They would not be given if mankind were not capable of inner development and transformation. The reward of this inner development ultimately is re-birth.

Spiritually man can be viewed as a seed…..spiritually capable of evolving and growing. Truth, spiritual truth, is necessary for this evolving and growth. Stone, water and wine are words used for different levels of truth in the Scriptures. Esoterically ‘stone’ refers to external truth, literal truth and is inflexible. To be written in stone like the Commandments. Nevertheless it is a foundation and has truth for those who wish not to pursue inner growth. ‘The stone that the builders rejected’…..
Gen 29:1-3….the stone(literal truth) that blocked the well prevented water(living truth) from flowing. Once it was rolled away the ‘sheep’ could drink ‘truth’…living water.
“The Jews took up stones again to stone him”…they could only think literally accusing Jesus of blasphemy……not understanding his truths. In our own times we still assault others with literal truth….think fundamentalists. It is not malicious but they are coming from a lower level of truth.
Rolling away the stone at the tomb……it was the ‘literal truth’ that Jesus was dead but a different truth was realized when the ‘stone’ was removed.

Later I can speak of water and wine being esoteric meanings for truth…..

FallingLeaves,

Yes, it sets us free from the untruths that have control over us. We do not have to be blind or delusional if we have the real truth. We can experience re-birth and transformation.

I have shared real truths in here and most reject them for errors. Only the Father is called Ho Theos in Greek= The God--So in the last line at John 1:1 in Greek, plain Theos is there, Ho Theos is in the second line--Proving a god small g belongs in the last line at John 1:1--That is why the differential Ho Theos or plain Theos is used to show there is a difference, It did not call the word-The God. Its been a deception for centuries. Its the real reason Jesus teaches this truth-John 20:17, Rev 3:12, John 4:22-24--The way = following Jesus footsteps closely and most assuredly believing his words over errors. When his words do not match the dogmas taught. One believes Jesus-EVERYTIME.

Yes, he said, i am the way, truth and life, no one comes to the Father except through me. The Father is the destination to accomplish John 4:22-24 daily.
John 4:22-24-- Jesus warns about other gods being served before he tells all the proper way--Paul does the same at 1 Cor 8:5-6--warns of false gods then tells all The Father is God.. He did not call the son God.

With respect, you have shared what you personally believe to be 'Real Truths'. You see others reject them as ' Errors ' but that can also be seen in your Denomination....
So what is 'Truth' ?

Ultimately the Truth is God or an attribute of God which is trustworthy, reliable, and faithful.
Jesus The Christ is God's Truth revealed and is no longer concealed which would be the Grace of God.
Grace and Truth and Trust go hand in hand.Man cannot know Truth without God's Grace.
Man's works and knowledge cannot lead to Truth or Freedom.Only through Grace can man have Life.
This Life can only be found through the Union in God which Christ brought and Revealed.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling
among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth” (Jn. 1:14)

I don't know if people reject what you say but it appears to be a center for attention.

..... and then some seem to indicate that studying and understanding the Bible is beneficial whereas others seem to say the opposite. And then, some.... claim they are God so why should they bother.

But it is apparent that Jesus and his followers know and understood the Bible. Can you imagine what the outcome would 'sound like' if they didn't?

As for truths.......
