Who is Krishna ?

Who is he is/was ?
Was he an ascended master, an enlightened being , an angelic being or some kind of creator being ?

Is he a galactic being, an ET with blue skin ?

He's the same kind of being as Buddha, Jesus ?

Are there ancient scripture which talk about Krishna and who he is, what is his role on the cosmic plane ?

Hey smilingsun, Lord Krishna has described himself in Bhagavad Gita, in Miss Hepburn's favorite chapter of the book. It's a good book anyway so you can give it a read if you haven't yet.

Krishna was an enlightened sage of the past. He was a Rajarshi, in the sense that he was a householder ( instead of a monk) who attained both spiritual enlightenment and material prosperity.

Other famous Rajarshis are Rama, Janaka, Lahiri Mahasaya, Guru Hargobind and so on.

The Bhagavad Gita deals with Krishna's teachings, and his teachings are said to have combined various systems into an integral one. He had for example, discussed Karma Yoga ( yoga of action), Bhakti yoga ( yoga of devotion), jnana yoga ( yoga of intellect) and raja yoga ( yoga of mysticism), subjecting them to critical examination and sort of synthesized them into a holistic whole.

There are excellent psychological insights in the Gita useful to all. One of them goes thus...

Quote:
"The mind is turbulent, and difficult to control, but can be controlled through practice and detachment. "

Krishna also spoke and fought against superstitious practices like human sacrifice considering it to be violent and cruel , and had fought a powerful king named Jarasandha and prevented him from performing the same. This is recorded in the Mahabharatha.

Krishna -an historical being about 5k years back - is worshipped as an incarnation of God by Hindus . In cosmic plane , Hindus talk about krishna consciousness like others say about Buddha Consciousness or Christ Consciousness .

He was an angelic being - leader of a republic in Indian State . It was not exactly monarchy . He was against unbridled monarchy and was in favor of rule based controlled rulers responsible to other learned people or elected representatives. And in this belief He fought wars , killed autocratic rulers like KAnsa, Shishupal ,Jarasangh etc ) made them comply with welfare state rule of law .

While his entire life is a testimony to his teachings , one can find gist of his philosophy in Bhagavad Gita 18 chapters . In that sense learned people call him Teacher - a global teacher also .
He was certainly not galactic being with blue skin . His skin was slight dark but he looked very handsome.

While the terminology he uses in his philosophy is different from what Christ or Buddha used , the crux of their messages are essentially same for most part . There can/may be differences but those are trivial and insignificant in view glaring similarity .

India epic Mahabharata depicts His life history.

Because of a very vivid dream I had - I personally think Krishna came from a planet I visited in that Dream ---that has 'blue skinned people".
I have no idea if the planet was in our Milky Way Galaxy ---a far away galaxy or even a planet in another Dimension.
Was He that planet's 'saviour', ''a master'' from there?
A visiting god - Vishnu, that gave us some help, too? I dunno.

But the next day at lunch a friend gave me a wrapped present: A 12" blue Genesh.
"Out of the blue." I do know His words effect me deeply.

Because he came to Paramahansa Yogananda; visited him personally...I DO believe He exists...I capitalize 'Him",
because He could be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu...I dunno. A sign of respect.
