Free soap M-F til 11:30am

Laundry days remind
me to watch cycles unfold.
I'm folding my cards

Okay, See how it goes

Admitting it is the first step.

The next requires gusto
and a bottle of red.
I take a deep breath.

She tells me she sewed her curtains.
I'm almost certain she will close them.
Inhibitions buffer truth more or less.

Well the fruit flies offer company
and the company offers insurance
and the insurance offers conditions
I don't understand.

Read the fine print.
It's a mighty fine day.
I feel just fine but I'm finding
the flies aren't my friends.
They just want what I have.

I have sticky ribbon
and I'm sorry.

Inner-child vs. outer-adult

Adapting my tone
tuning out the inner child
locking eyes as she smiles
ripping heads off her dolls

I yawn at her antics
and naturally, she panics
fearing to be forgotten

Apologetically alive.
She kicks the back seat
and I let out a sigh.

This must be it. Welcome to the New Year.

I know Hindsight
isn't always 2020.

Fighter pilot mininum-
best of luck to the rest of em.
We're tossing glitter to the ground like
maybe we could grow something

worthy of celebration.
Is this not it?

We awoke cradling wishbones
from time loaned to yet another midnight.

Now so prone to being left alone,
I'm not sure where I'd go
if not
parallel to the Flow.

Trauma bonds and things I dwell on

Well I resent the trauma-free!
How can I do that all while
acknowledging that

the world should see more
childhoods we'd consider Happy?

Yet still I roll my eyes at the
Sweetest Couples
Trust Funded Cuddles
Humble Brags of
No Bruises from Battle.

Good for you.
---------------------

Please ignore my shadow.
She keeps ripping out the seams
hoping I won't catch her
scribbling profanities

on the wall.

Headline poem

The pentagon has 6 months to
disclose what it knows
about UFOs.

I promise I come in peace
though I cannot speak
for the whole country.

This irrational national anthem
expands past the planets into
the ether and all that we're asking

is to know how it feels to
be anything other than human.

If I had 5 minutes to ask 5 questions,
I'd use this pent up confusion
to inquire about directions.

Follow the strings back to the center
and unravel all the tender parts
blended in between the splinters
Sending memories inward
lingering for days
Guess I always figured
There'd be reason to stay

Inland.

Understand
These tides take their sweet time
Meanwhile I'm waking up
to your laugh
And you meet me in the middle of
the intersection at

Where we fell apart and where we played our hands
Cards were stacked against us
So we built a house
With them
All the bells ring when memories
wipe their feet
at the door
Bringing the feeling
like we've been here before

Anxiety!!!!

What's in a name?

That which we call a stomachache
by any other name
would pang just the same.

I am anxious!!!!

A green screen mirrored image
suddenly burdened by
introversion
blending into my backgrounds.

Doubt it's even important.

I'm always catching all the splinters in the fever of
the desert while they're smirking on the sidelines
watching sidewalks take the heat for it.

Go get another paycheck and then buy up all this
land here just to try to get some space from heavy
stuff up in the headlines.

It's like we're
Sinking in the waters waiting for the rain to cleanse
us, always tip toeing around the fact that
minimum don't cut it

And I'm aching for a breakthrough
shaking off the days that clutter,
stutter something under my breath about
the winter months and whatnot

And so we drifted off to sleep*
trading shoes made two left feet
Dancing, treading lightly
Follow the rabbit where she may lead
