It doesn't sound like she is curious to me at all; it sounds like she needed and asked for space, then didn't get it, and is now irritated that her wishes aren't respected.
Also, we judge all the time here

Genuine forum members don't judge.
It sounds to me as though she is wanting to be a member of the church/ faith but didn't want to feel pressured into specific days .
Of course she will be welcomed.
I was welcomed into a church and I'm not even christened .
The only advice I can give is that she attends church AS and WHEN she wants/ needs and take it from there .
As time goes on she will know whether she is being coerced or not.

OP - I've always liked Christians like Meister Eckhart; Christian mysticism versus those that cleave to its words. YMMV

Hi candyfloss, longtime,
I was also part of a Bible Study Book Club thing...'Mere Christianity' was our topic...took forever.
I think it's sweet they wanted you to come back and they encouraged you ...with prayer even... that's their way.
It's not like you said, "NO", on a date and he tried to coerce you...trust me.
It's no big deal ...just don't go back and in your mind wish them well. Move on.
It's like changing a hairdresser of 10 yrs -- you needed a change, so what ---but they send you
a card with a discount. It's just sending out a message ..."Miss you".

It sounds like they genuinely care about you and want you to reconsider returning to Bible Study. I don't sense anything sinister in their message to you.
