Consider ASMR what you feel when someone is brushing gently your hair.I don't know how to describe it,but you get the point.

Yes, at the hairdressers when they're washing and brushing my hair it's lovely. It's not that tingling feeling they are describing for ASMR though, well not for me anyway. I get that tingling, like shiver down the spine type thing (although not down my spine, usually on my arms or legs). With certain music I get this, and certain things in films. For example. In the film The Green Mile, when the character John Coffey channels the healing I get it then. Just writing that sentence started it a bit, the thought.

Monotonous sounds can help for relaxation. Not sure why it's called asmr??
Rain drops, thunderstorms, crackling fire are all nice to listen to..
In some RPG games I often logged in not to play the game but just to listen to the background sounds.

Still can't figure out why the sound of page turning makes me feel that way.

Lol.... I like being read to, the page turning is part of that.
I do enjoy the crinkling of paper when I write but my spidey senses don't tingle or anything when I hear it.
What I find interesting is that studies are now happening not only to find out why some people have these sensations but also to find out why others actually seem to have adverse sensations like nausea.
I felt a bit nauseous with the whispering ones and a couple of other noises too... Like plastic tapping noises.
I think there will be some interesting discoveries with these studies.

^ Oh, that video is beautiful, Altair
I watch eating ASMR every once in a while Technically its called Mokbangs ( Korean for eating broadcasting). Mainly because I intermittent fast every day and I don't eat junk or fast food. The food has to look edible tho, like sonic burgers or tacos. Its like a weird fulfilled fantasy watching it since my diet is so restrictive * has issues*
As far as traditional ASMR, yeah those videos can be quite odd. I saw one where a nurse was playing a head lice specialist and pretending to take out nits out of someones hair,I cant .. LOL... Honestly, I think alot of the videos out there are for humor and click bait, not really that serious, but I suppose there are people that get genuine satisfaction and relief from it due to what the name actually stands for, ' Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response'.
