Hii, tai chi and my growth within this area of practice
Hii all,
I’m learning a mix of tai, internal kung fu and qi gong from a friend. Not sure which part is which. Maybe it’s all just one thing I’m practicing.
It’s hard work. First I enjoyed it, but now I need some time off. It’s better to let things rest when you’ve made a lot of growth.
I’ve learned a bit of control and opening up the body (not sure if I do it the right way). I also pushed real hard to move into my body. And really make this stretch etc to move entirely into my body. And it was really good for me. In the end it helped me handle stress better. And am still learning from the experience.
I mostly wanted to deal with animating the body. Which is done not only by moving the muscles, but also taking control over the heart and other organs. In this I’ve succesfully grown.
It’s hard work. And one must be ready as with any and every spiritual practice. So it’s a lot to process for now.
Much kindness,
Cosmic Wonder

Enjoy the trip on little step at the time, the physical body needs patience to change.

Hahaha that’s out of my control actually. I just met this guy who teaches it to me mixed. It’s fine. As long as it’s working. I could ask him which is which, but actually I enjoy the randomness of the fact that it’s mixed. Maybe it’s just one of them. I’ll know in time

Kung Fu means mastery of. So you could have kung fu for cooking or anything else.
If you say Shaoling Kung Fu, which I learned, it encompass the mastery of many arts, Tai chi and Qi Qong are part of them, as astrology, geomancy, acupuncture and many other disciplines are part of that type of kung fu.
There is no problem with gaining the mastery of Tai-chi alone, no danger for the body, as you are learning to watch your body move as your chi and your breath move.
Qi Qong as special exercises in it that could be dangerous for the balance of Chi in the body if not well applied.
They are more esoteric teachings in Shaoling Kung Fu that are better to learn with a grand master, if not it is like playing with fire.

Thank you very much :) the person who teaches me is a realized person. He did things like this for years. But he takes things more lightly with me. He just teaches me movements too. And the small movements within the movements too. I myself teach myself to animate my body. Not so much my chi. Rather physical functions and taking control of them. Never heard someone do that this way. But discovered myself it is very possible for me.

Hiya
Tai chi on it's own is enough I think, if all three at a time are straining.
Tai chi is at the same time relaxing and vivifying. It helps you being ready !

Hi CosmicWonder,
Talking about Mix, it is mutual promotional if you mix with practice involving body movements and one without body movements.
Practices with body movements including Taichi, etc. and those without body movements means meditative techniques. The mix with one of each type is OK.
But it is strongly not recommended to mix with two or more practices of one type during the same period of time. You could practice one in a period and another one in another period.
Hope it is of help to you.
