Navratri : Nine day festival of the Divine Feminine

The 9 day Navratri festival is being celebrated by Hindus around the world from last week onwards.

Quote:
The nine manifestations of Maa Durga that are worshiped with fervor during Navratri, are believed to lift divine spirit in us to help us overcome obstacles and get liberated from unnecessary qualities to be filled with new freedom and purity.

The Navratri festival this year has started and is from 15-10-23 (Sunday) to 24-10-23 (Tuesday).

Happy Navratri to all.

Quote:
During Navratri, we celebrate the nine forms of “Goddess Durga or Shakti”, who symbolises purity and divinity, while the depiction of demons like Ravana at her feet represents the five negative Sanskar (vices), including lust, anger, greed, attachment, and ego.. Thus, Navratri serves as an occasion to invoke the deities in our quest to transcend these negative traits and habits.

What fun...a festival.
Say, ajay, if you ever find the definitions of all the things being held in those hands in the photo...

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

You will find this article informative in this regard...

Goddess Durga is considered to be one who destroys negative or demonic energies for positive energies to take their place.

So her weapons symbolize her ability to do so. The number of weapons in hands denotes a god or goddess's ability to destroy negativity. It does not imply violence and is just a symbol or metaphor.

Since Durga has ten hands with weapons and other devices, it denotes a high ability to destroy negativity.

Love the notion of celebrating the divine feminine.
