Repetition is very imp in spiritual understanding...
So here I go again...I am a very simplistic person in spiritual things
so it is easy for me to repeat things. Lol

When thinking about meditation... I want you to reflect on the feeling
of love and ease and warmth as when you hold your newborn...
or your new puppy...or lay next to your new sig other.

Do you need discipline?
Do you want to leave?
Do you feel distracted?
Or do you want to stay there forever, forgetting all the world's pulls?

This...this is what meditation is...it is taking time to be with your Beloved in a cocoon.
To delight in 'Him', to feel the Divine Presence that has adored you as you were
being made in your mother's womb (ref Psalm 139)...
and to love 'Him'** back.

**Him,
Who has no gender

Dry mantras that we force our attention onto...reciting all our needs...
watching our silly thoughts...sound like fun?
No.
Sitting as an empty cup to be filled with profound wisdom,
vast insights, amazing love and peace...sound better?

It's all in the approach and mental preparation...as in everything we do.

Aaaaand, of course, you do not have to listen to a word I say.

Hi Miss Hepburn, Anthony here again...

I want to observe my thoughts but i get very unbalanced and un-grounded. Getting this pressure in my jaw when i do this but i feel it's me holding on to tension in jaw.

How to be grounded and watch the thoughts, I try watching the breathing but does not help to much.

Sitting as an empty cup to be filled with profound wisdom,
vast insights, amazing love and peace...sound better?

This does sound allot better, will give it a try and give my insight what happens...

Miss H,
After reading this thread feel urged to try sitting again. I think about going to a place where I'm not responsible for anything, like making my dogs stop barking and waking the neighbors, or wrestling on the furniture, or stuff.

Thanks

This does sound a lot better, will give it a try.....
Me?
I have no desire to 'observe my thoughts'.
I never recommend it to anyone.
It is a form of 'something' that is not for me.

Now, that said...if I watch my thoughts, than it is when my thoughts
are directed, as in, intentional and deliberate....like....
"You are all around me. You have been here since before I was in this body, Lord...watching my progress...
ever drawing me to You.
You have loved me since you made me...I am Yours completely.
I rely on You and You protect me.
I love You and You beam more love at me. You are the creator of genius.
How can You be so smart to have made this Universe like clockwork...every piece fitting
into another at the right time...
Your magnificence is astounding.
How could I ever love You enough...appreciate You enough...You are too big to comprehend...
Yet, You care for me so much...watch over me while I even sleep...make my hair grow while I am
unaware...Your beauty is unimagineable to me...but I have seen a small fraction...And I am blessed...."

And so on ...
Now THESE, thoughts I can recommend focusing on.

If you MUST think, anthony, my dear...then think THESE.

Hi, grannymary :)

Hi, grannymary :)

Hi Miss Hepburn

Thank you. I do get to silence and stillness, only when i don't get so overwhelmed by them thoughts and get so irritated that i mess my whole meditation up. ehhh...

That is an idea when i get like that again, maybe i will think that or something on those lines.

PS I do this before meditation:

"If you should sit before each meditation as I do and think or say the words ..."
"You have dissolved Yourself into the air, Lord...I know that You
are behind
every inhale and exhale...You are the power behind the breath...
like an invisible motor You are underneath the breath and have
placed Your Very Self within
each atom of atmosphere around the earth.
I walk and move within You. You are within every breath.
Reveal Yourself to me...I will remain still and wait.
Keep me close to You...don't hide any longer..."

Try this and see if you 'make a connection'.
Do something of this sort every day of your life as long as you live.

Yes, that sounds familiar! hahaha.... Now remember when you place a needle back
at the beginning of a record...you don't get mad and slam it down, do you?
No...it is a gentle process.
Keep the process of refocusing your heart and mind (think heart)...
always gentle and lighthearted.

What I found lately when I meditate ( granted it's only 10 minutes a day) I'll increase it to 30 a day in due time but anywho in just that 10 minutes.. I lay on my back when meditating and my body, my legs and arms start to feel heavy, like their are weights on them or something.

What is causing this? Is this the beginning of feeling yourself trying to depart from your body? Or am I just so relaxed that parts of my body is going to sleep haha

Speaking from my own personal experience of this current lifetime.
  • Discipline helps with any practice, be that meditation, cooking, martial arts, etc.
  • We always want to leave when things are good because we always believe there is something better around the corner.
  • Distractions create the state of awareness that the mind needs to be able to stay focused on the now.
  • Have you been there? Do you know what it feels like to stay there forever?

When we get to a state of conscious clarity, then and only then will we find that ability to forget the worlds pulls. We are here to experience life as a Human being on this beautiful planet we all call home.
Meditation is simply a tool. All tools are good when used correctly. I am not suggesting that any of the tools are better than any of the others, I just feel that you are over looking a very useful tool when used in combination with the other tools available to us at this moment.

Won Love Peace
