My wife died about six years ago, and since then there are times in which the scent of lilacs or roses surround me and a cool draft of air sweeps across my face (always from right to left). Sometimes it happens when I'm in bed, others while sitting quietly in the living room.
When not overwhelmed, I try to say, "Hi, baby--want some coffee?"
