Funny when touring around California in some remote areas where wild (mountain? ) cats were known to be, I was pretty scared..actually I was on edge constantly. Being out of my normal comfort zone, where I only have to deal with poisonous spiders, deadly snakes, man eating sharks, boxing kangaroos and cuddly koalas, it was no easy task you know...

I have heard that some Aussie people are convinced they have seen some wild big cats out in the great outback :)
I've never seen one but our feral cats can get pretty massive.

My actual pet domestic cat is like my shadow... he goes everywhere that I go when I am at home... I think he keeps me connected to reality as I get a bit lost at times :)

Ya'd defintly not have liked the cougar / puma / mountain lion I ran into when hiking in Montana then. All I had with me was heavy walking stick. "Bumped" into one another around corner as he was coming down trail & I going up. Took about 30 minutes to go by as he was skittsh. About 25 feet between us at closest. More curious than anything. I was more "wow this is amzing" than frighnted

As for cats in general. Grew up with four of them. Lov them. Mututal feeling as always got "groomed". Penty photos of us kids naping & cats snoozing right alongside. The big old tom used to follow us to the bus stop in the morn & be there after school.

Always had at least one, even if family is mor into dogs.
