Sometimes a song come forward on the quiet of the night. I see Monument Valley, Utah every time I here this song. The beat is grounding.

70’s huh,... ok... but the only songs I can think of are Cher - Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves https://youtu.be/2xHhWkz5aMc I remember walking to school, third grade, my friends singing this at the top of their lungs... oh if our mothers had seen us...
The second song was Jesus Christ Super Star. My mom had the album.
GlitterRose, the music is wonderful without and video. :-)

My own Viking-related ancestry goes back to Gotland.
Lived there for a while - a truly magical place.
Never felt their spirit-presence, but it was as if the cliffs and the land itself bore witness to them having been there.

Oh yeah! Gypsey's, Tramps and Thieves was a great song and arguably Cher's best from that era! And I can totally imagine 3rd graders singing this at the top of there lungs!
So....continuing my trip through the 70's now with Credence Clearwater Revival.
CCR as they are often referred, became know for a musical style that today is called "Swamp Rock" or sometimes "Roots Rock" or even "Folk Rock".
Because of lyrics that included mentions of such thing as swamps, bayou's and rivers....many people early on thought they were from somewhere like Louisiana but they were actually part the early California Folk Rock movement and were from the San Francisco Bay area of California.
The bands music featured lyrics dealing with the issues of the day such as civil rights and the Vietnam war.....all sung with the gritty and powerful vocals of John Fogerty
So...here's one of my top favorite by Credence Clearwater Revival
Released in 1970........Have You Ever Seen the Rain
