Are chakras a part of reiki?

IMO mixing Reiki with chakras, or crsytals, pendulums, Tarot, etc. is just wanting to be everything to all people.

By all means do chakra balancing, crystal healing and use pendulums or the Tarot, just don't say that is is part of Reiki.

How can we honor Usui's legacy when we bring in all kind of other stuff which was foreign to him?

I am in agreement with what you say about mixing other modalities with Reiki. Except that even some hard-line traditionalists are now of the belief that in this day and age one can no longer deny the energy centers in the body that are touched by Reiki. People also want to know the answer to the question 'just what does Reiki touch in the body?' so as to be better informed.

And we, as masters, would be more than remiss to deliberately forgo mentioning the chakras or energy centers just to appear politically correct.

But if something else is recommended by spirit to be used in conjunction with Reiki, I would strongly suggest that if the practitioner is one of Usui Shiki Ryoho (Dr. Usui's System) then they should make it plainly clear that what they are using is not a part of Reiki but is being used as a complement to Reiki.

chakras are vital part of etheral body and reiki passes energy to energy centers of etheral body that is called chakras. so yes chakras are linked directly or indirectly to reiki or any other healing techniques. apparantly there are 7 chakras but actually there are hundreds of chakras in our etheral body.
