Are there a mixture of crystals in these?

Thought them rather lovely, was searching images of upright fossilized trees as they are supposed to be evidence of biblical creation due to rapid laying down of strata.

Nice specimen of petrified wood.

As an oddity, I have several pieces of petrified bamboo wood.

Petrified wood is not wood. It once was wood but slowly over time, almost every piece of the wood was replaced with local minerals. The local minerals, in some cases, crystalizes and make beautiful specimens.

In many cases, petrified wood is a special form of Quartz and its varieties.

I love them for 'time traveling' and for getting 'lost' information from the past.

I suppose jet is different as it is wood that has been put under pressure, I also guess there are more types like this?

Interesting how poverty and magic intertwine as if part of the elixir for growth.

Someone once told me that many diamonds would have originally been leaves.

Diamonds hold their own marvel as they make their presence known in our World. They are also marvelous teachers in such fields as Science.
