Smoke

creative experimental playground (of little to no concern)

Red hues capture the eyes as
Smoke rises up to kiss the mind -
A spark of life from the core of earth
awakens itself in time.

Warmth from the fire,
livens the spirit -
rousing the flame which
rests inside.

Sunlight carries the light to
ignite the flame which dances -
inspired to move with the beat of
the music which resides within.

Flowers grow and flourish with pride,
the greenest meadows sustain new life,
the interplay of passionate and mellow tones
chime in harmony...

The music of life is an
intricate song in which each and
every thing aligns itself to
Belong.

Tropical Paradise

1000 crickets sing loudly
in chorus. They thrive in
those, thick, tropical heat waves -
Those endless, balmy days of Summer.

1 million flies arrive to the
foodbowl of life, to dine on
the moist epidermis of homo sapiens during
Those relentless, humid
days of Summer.

Mosquitos seem to remain,
forever entranced by the hot
blooded chance to feast in delight of
my suffering!

Cockroaches roam as a group or alone...
So long as they know that there are morsels of
food to show up and dine on.

Turkeys will not pass the chance to
laugh at my dismal attempts to keep them
out of the garden of tropical abundance!

Parasitic ticks, live in the eternal bliss of
knowing that a hot blooded host will eventually
provide the most lavish feast for their blood thirsty needs!

Jellyfish make me itch, I am
lucky if they don't kill me -
Some cures are simply comedic relief -
You may as well hold the pee.

Paradise is so alive with wonder and
Full of life!
All the birds and the bees and
The life giving madness of tropical humidity!

Not to mention the delights of the coral and
the sea and of
Course... the diversity of all
the tiny parasites which feed on me!

We have killer hornets moving into Canada, they cut the heads off Buble bees, and are causing all kinds of turbulence.

A few well-placed stings can kill a human, and I'm thinking, could it happen to me?

No, I fear God has bigger plans for me, like growing old.

Forty fathoms deep...

Oh, how the sea transports me into its
grand tranquility... the crisp waves,
cascade over my empty mind, the
whitewash entrances the vacant, empty shrine of my
heart... inticing me to play and spark the
light of passion, to live my life all fired up.

Oh, how the ocean transports me into the depths of
my own heart. Forty fathoms deep, under the sea...
where I drown into the depths of me, to meet with
the last breath of my being - where I am swallowed by
a hungry whale, when I refuse the mission and so
my life
becomes boring and stale!

Oh how I was swallowed by the sea - when I refused to see
the truth of my place, the truth of my light and my grand majesty!

Poor bees.

For the first time in my 3 decades of life, I became aquainted with a couple of hornets building a nest. Never have I ever seen such creatures before then! I have met plenty of wasps, been stung by a few and taken my antihistamine!
But hornets are another beast entirely. They work so dutifully, with efficiency and with dedication. I was very impressed by their industrious nature but could see that they wouldn't be fun to mess with.

I am glad that I do not live in a parallel universe where hornets are the size of aeroplanes against us mere mortals, who would be so vulnerable against such unfathomable beasts

So far as growing old, no one escapes that sinking boat of mortality alive haha... Some of us seem to have liferafts though ?!!! I am not privy to that gold standard package as a common $2 peasant lol

The Langoliers

Shanty towns abound,
Desolate and crumbling...

Dimly lit epicentres of
emptiness.

Stale food sits upon the shelves
Catering to the illusion of time.

The misty tombstones on the
Horizon fade behind the sea spray

The Langoliers are coming
consuming everything in their path...

The universe is unfolding as the Langoliers
Come to suck the marrow from the past.

Right on, awsome poem... I have seen a modern version of that Stephen King Move, I love his mind.

Just watched this on Net flix, https://www.netflix.com/watch/802379...964f688f%2C%2C

The Movie "In The Tall Grass" it was good King entertainment.

Yeah, he has quite a weird, creative mind that guy. I am amazed how many books he has written I wonder if he ever sleeps ?

I will check out that movie you mentioned.
I think I remember liking "The Mist" another one inspired by his books. I think the ending sucked though haha, which was the effect they were going for and it worked.
