Dictionary.com defines illusion as "something that deceives by producing a false or misleading impression of reality". This is the first meaning it lists, which is how I use the word.

"What is to be learned?...."?
To answer this, we have to ask, why we need to learn? What's the purpose to learn? Why we don't want to be an Unlearned? What induces us to learn about anything?
If we answer this true to our heart, then we can see why we are learning, and upon which we are heading towards (which you had asked as "What is to be learned?") |

Yes, I am an illusion.
What exists is an expanse of eternally fluctuating 'physical energy'. That we see ourselves and other things, is a scheme of evolution, a creation of our mind and a limitation of our senses. Things in reality are like this: Apparently arising and dissipating eternally, (like virtual particles).

Note: The fluctuations do not need to be rhythmic. They are random. Each point in space will have its own fluctuation.

Yeah, Sure. Just move your comb a few time in the hairs on your head (your body if you do not have a crop at top) and bring them close to small bits of paper, the paper is attracted to the comb.
Electric charge (even while there is no real touch) by nearness to electrons and the feeling is carried to the touch centers of the brain (Somatosensory Cerebral Cortex), which interprets it; coarse, smooth, sticky, fluid, hot, cold, etc.
Neural processing of social touch is different. That involves release of harmones too.

Ok,you got me  Maybe earth is an illusion,but only in differing vibrations. The vibration we all on Earth are in makes it real.

Well Kris I can honestly say I DONT KNOW!
And I guess I can live with that until I experience something that tells/shows me the truth.
There are good arguments on both sides.
