Well, wasn't that a clever sentence. I wonder what people will say to that! :)
Jesus and Buddhism seem to want less or no suffering.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

A certain amount of suffering or psychological pain is useful when one has made an error or mistake or produced undesirable results.

It will help one to introspect and course correct oneself.

For example, feeling pain over undesirable habits can help one self-motivate oneself to get rid of them and replace with desirable habits.

However excessive suffering or psychological pain should be avoided as they can cause psychological damage and is unhealthy. Carl Jung had stated that such people can even inflict harm on others.

“The healthy man does not torture others - generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers. ~ Carl Jung

Suffering is sometimes emphasized a lot by some Christians, ignoring Jesus's teachings and proverbs on happiness and contentment, imho.
