And don't I know it !!!!!
But it's not intentional.
The suicide I mean.
We dont want to die , us smokers .
We don't smoke in order to intentionally kill ourselves.
It's russian roulette.
In my case I got the bullet .

Yeah, I can't quit either. I only partially want to die.

It's my last vice. I haven't drank alcohol or used illicit substances in 7+ and 5+ years respectively.

I stopped smoking 3 years ago after being diagnosed with not one, but two lung conditions that are going to kill me.
My life expectancy is very limited .
I admire you that you stopped illicit substances and alcohol.
That takes strength.
My only vice was cigs.
But that was enough to serve my death warrant !!
Regrets?
None.

No point in regrets .
We can't change the past.
Do I want to die ?
No.
But nothing I can do about it.

Death is something everyone has in common. Just in enjoy the time you have left. I agree you can play the shoulda/woulda game all day about your decisions but what is real is what is right now.

We are us.
How we live defines who we are.
Are we bad because of it ????
Absolutely not .
If fact I would say it makes us more special .
People that "breeze " through life willy nilly without a care in the world are far and few between.
Some of us live in the real world !!

I Do enjoy the time I have left , but equally I am tired and welcome a different world.

I have packed away my smoking gear for another day. I am vaping now. I never quit, just taking a long break
