^^ Elephants are amazingly intelligent and compassionate. They have good memory and are able to morn when another elephant dies. Seen plenty in Africa, they are amazing to observe.

The first major interaction I had with an elephant was when I was 18 or 19 years old.
I was driving down the main street of the city that I lived in one late night. I was going to go to McDonalds to get something to eat when a tractor trailer pulled out in front of me. I immediately started to stop when I realized it could not be a tractor trailer - it had no reflective reflectors. I immediately realized I was seeing things.
Then I came to a dead stop.
It was an elephant.
It had escaped from a circus that was visiting that city.
