My first album by Inkubus Sukkubus....
....they were recommended to me by norseman here at SF. What a revelation! The music is superb. Its powerful and spiritual. The band have been called the "best pagan band" of our era. The music is a form of rock while the lyrics are strictly alternative. Natural, wild and uplifting this music is a gift for those who live their spiritual life with a passion.
It is totally non denominational and does not abide by any spiritual teaching as such, flowing free instead through myth, mythology and beliefs.
Candia the lead singer has an extraordinary voice. Strong yet very feminine and beautiful. The melodies can sound almost mainstream, but they are colourful and lively enough to carry the message through.
I'll be buying more......Inkubus Sukkubus are like a fresh breeze blowing all the stuffy cobwebs away. Very original and refreshing.

I'm just not a fan of rock, so InkSuk isn't one of my favorites. I can only handle them in small doses, unlike Damh the Bard which I could listen to all day.

Well here is *another* musical artist I can check out. Damh The Bard. I looked at Amazon and was impressed with what I saw.
If you like bards....you make like Daevid Allen and Gong. They are musical story tellers in the hippy style.

I remember discovering them when I was about 14 and being blown away by them. Nowadays I do enjoy the spirit of their music but feel I've outgrown them. The music is good but just seems to lack a tinsy bit of technical skill sometimes.

That is very astute. It is the spirit of their music which is so inspiring, that and Candias voice. But the music itself does actually lack technical skill. It is like a friend of mine said; Candia is let down by the music.
But somehow it is all a success. Maybe if Candia was in a different band which played better but lacked the enthusiasm then the band would not be so good. It is a funny combination. The band can sound like a pop group, but they have the pagan roots and lyrics.
It is like they are a pagan pop band. Better musicians would help Candias voice, but would the music be so "catchy"?

Yes, well, they have only been going 20+ years Perhaps they might get better with time. Perhaps Cowell could give them a hand [extreme sarcasm]
They know their audience and their genre well !

I really like this band, I have about 20 songs that I really like. I dislike a bit the strong anti-Christian lyrics, but I can live with that.

I have the greatest hits album of Inkubus Sukkubus at home.
I also really liked them in the past.
They still sound good, it's just that they are too goth for me now... lol
I have gotten away from all the goth music and goth lifestyle in the last year.....
But I dont hate Inkubus Sukkubus. I love the lead singer. She's beautiful and has a beautiful voice. I admire their love for nature and faeries!
But the vampyres and all that is just some things I had to get away from. lol
