Again, people should think about "The sin of the world", and, the survival instinct, particular to every creature on the planet.
Which involves time, and the reason Christ appeared to us, and went to the cross.

Morpheus,

As you quoted….”we are in eternity now”. The part of eternity that we are now in has the added feature of time. In heaven there is no darkness….therefore no time….it is eternity in its fullness. People get hung up on denying that sin brings death…..is it really relevant ? Should, for some reason, we fear eternity ?

18: 24; “But if a righteous person stops doing good and starts doing all the evil, disgusting things that evil people do, will he go on living? No! None of the good he did will be remembered. He will die because of his unfaithfulness and his sins.

The Lord here is referring to the 'SECOND DEATH' which is the everlasting punishment for the unrepentant sinners.

Hebrews 9: 27; And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:

After the body in which 'YOU' the mind/spirit had developed, has decomposed and returned to the elements from which is was created, what part of you, goes off into judgement?

Peace.

I would say most people are not aware of the "Second Death".

Then it appears that they have never read Revelation 21: 5-8; Where it is written; Then the one who sits on the throne (The Son of Man' as revealed by Jesus in Matthew 25: 31-41) said, “And now I make all things new!” He also said to me, “Write this, because these words are true and can be trusted.” And he said, “It is done! I am the first and the last, the beginning and the end. To anyone who is thirsty I will give the right to drink from the spring of the water of life without paying for it. Those who win the victory will receive this from me: I will be their God, and they will be my children. But cowards, traitors, perverts, murderers, the immoral, those who practise magic, those who worship idols, and all liars — the place for them is the lake burning with fire and sulphur, which is the 'SECOND DEATH'.”

Man, is Body, mind/spirit, and soul. The death of the body in which we 'The Minds' develop is the first death, the division of the mind from the soul is the SECOND DEATH, the everlasting punishment for the unrepentant wicked, the mindless soul is then given a new body of some sort in which to develop a new mind.

PBU you John.

.
The Anointed,

God is spirit….under your scenario it is spirit that dies but the soul is left standing ? And somehow this immortal soul develops mind/spirit ? God is the one who gives spirit……we have no role in developing spirit. This makes no sense and diminishes God.
