Yeah, my thoughts as well. Wow – who is she?! She sounds a bit Near Eastern …..? What is she doing in Shamanic circles?

But then when I watched this (where @ 4:54 she sings in French!):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zicNRF25R5I

She must be a blooming Berber!

You see Saami female DNA lines are related to Berbers.
Quote:
Intriguingly, the Saami of Scandinavia and the Berbers of North Africa were found to share an extremely young branch, aged merely ∼9,000 years. This unexpected finding not only confirms that the Franco-Cantabrian refuge area of southwestern Europe was the source of late-glacial expansions of hunter-gatherers that repopulated northern Europe after the Last Glacial Maximum but also reveals a direct maternal link between those European hunter-gatherer populations and the Berbers.

Most of my female cousins are U5, & most of them with the “Saami motif” U5b1 and many of those are shared with Berbers as well (U5b1b1).

Sooooo I guess, the Saami wanted to invite a deep ancestry relative to the party.

Well, Berber or not - she is amazing!

Edit:
Downloaded new dna-relatives data & had a look and no.
I have twice as many H mtdna variants than U5 variants.
Those 2 are the biggest groups but.

P.S. Berbers.
Not that we would ever have been Berbers, but the European hunter-gatherer female line split – some moved up North and are now Saami. Some moved down South and are now Berbers.
I guess it is just interesting for both groups to listen to the ‘echoes of the past’ if there is anything still felt in common.

Interestingly, The Berber tattoos do look like the symbols on Saami Drums:

About the Fire was what I wrote earlier …
Quote:
‘To do something greater than yourself’ – was re-enacted as everyone bringing their twig to the collective heap (to serve Totality) – which was then set in fire.

The Eagle is whom we send prayers/actions to – the Thunderbird is the messenger from Totality, or the Essence or the Creator.

The Drum is the Collective One Mind - One Heart Prayer.

Nice tatoos. I noticed the Berber flag design and a handle on a drum in one
of the videos might have been similar.(I will look for the vid.)

At 9:28 on your linked vid. in post #521 is the drum handle.

I see now it is not the same. Though some similarities.

In reference to post #522 bottom half below your fire reference.

All these are familiar concepts to me.
And they all sound right on.

Maybe they are figuring that out at the Isogaisa.

And the Berbers are indigenous too, struggling with the same problems as every other indig. group.

Good music though:

Sorry, I get so interested in DNA.

Partly, because of the discrimination Saami got (about our Siberian admixture) as us NOT having European ancestry and therefore Saami as a newcomer to Europe should go back to where they &*$%#@!!! came from.
At times, this discrimination became really vicious …. you’ve got no idea ……
Hence the DNA proof became necessary.

My Skolt-Saami-stock gran is Haplo V. I just became inspired & ordered a full sequence test to determine which V.

Much shortened version:
Quote:
https://www.eupedia.com/europe/Haplogroup_V_mtDNA.shtml

The Sami (also known as Lapps) were Europe's last hunter-gatherers.
They also have the highest level of Mesolithic European and Ancient North Eurasian ancestry. Their matrilinear lineages are surprisingly undiversified, possessing 48% of U5b1b1 and 42% of V (V1a1a and V5), two haplogroups that they strangely share with some Berber groups from Northwest Africa and the Fulbe people from Senegal U5b1b1 and V are also found together in the Iberian peninsula, especially among Cantabrians, who have 11% of U5b and 19% of V.

The Sami appear to be descended from a merger of Mesolithic hunter-gatherers from southern and central Europe (respectively represented by their two main maternal lineages: V and U5b). These Mesolithic nomads would have been pushed always further north and west by the wave of Neolithic farmers who quickly colonised southeast then central Europe. The Proto-Indo-Europeans of the Corded Ware culture later invaded southern Scandinavia and the eastern Baltic, pushing the remnants of U5b and V hunter-gatherers to the far north of Europe. Neolithic and Bronze Age newcomers are thought to have similarly pushed Mesolithic tribes to the far north of Spain, notably behind the mountains of Canatbria and the Basque country, and across the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa.

No need to be sorry.
DNA and history are both interesting.

Picked some more Nettles yesterday and laid down under some old trees.
Rain is coming back so I am hoping for some Thunders, which is nice this time of year.(Spring)

Ok. sneaking one more thing in.

I had been fascinated by this old Saami pic, since he looks like an Algerian Berber (or something):
https://preview.ibb.co/gGPYYe/9dc0f9cf.jpg
From the expedition:
http://www.luminous-lint.com/app/vex...5020067954861/

…. on account, that my V-haplo gran was a ‘black midget’ (normal, but a very short person).
Yet we do not have any “African” … oooor have some traces only. Like I have ½ % of 'African pygmy hunter-gatherer' … heh.
(Can't remember from which one).

P.S.
Or these clothing patterns would look “Saami” in Lapland:

Today I got my "Black Elk Speaks" – book.
This version:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....4,203,200_.jpg

And it has got maps, photographs, illustrations by Standing Bear aaaaand everything!

Black Elk doesn’t look that tall in the photos.
“I see small people”…..
