Wow, amazing first Om session

So for kicks I decided to try something new, threw on a 30 min Om loop from youtube, then started Om mantra with it, and gradually it became more and more intense, I broke out of it because I felt unprepared of how intense it felt to becoming. It went from sounding like a fly buzzing, to the only way I can describe it as a sheep bahh'ing. It was a great feeling though, I felt like I was a couple Om's away from entering some divine gateway.

Anyway, I wasn't sure how loud my humming was. Of course it seems loud in your head, but no one is around to ask if I'm being obnoxious. Anyway, pretty much wanted to get that out of the way, no more sitting idly in the dark keeping my mind clear and hoping I envision something to cling to as a step towards enlightenment, I'm sticking with this method for awhile. Just thought I'd share for anyone looking for some technique, and maybe some input as to how I can improve my own experience. Namaste.

Oh, that sounds really cool, you could try a 'whisper' om ... and then try just thinking 'om' in your mind, while being mindful of your nostrils as the air goes in and out.

'A couple Om's away' So close, so close...

This is transcendental meditation, right? I'd like to give this mantra meditation thing a try out loud, but there's always someone in earshot and I'd just feel too self-conscious

I'm sure there's some way to silence it. Find a nice quiet spot with some extra thick walls or something :p The way I look at it, if it's not worth them telling you to be quiet then there's nothing to worry about
