Currently busy with another creative project!
Not a painting but a cathouse that is to end up in my garden so the cats have a place to go when I'm out and it starts raining.
The idea was to use wood that I already had. I have done that as much as possible but have bought a few things nonetheless.
When it's done it'll be on legs so it's approx 15cm off the ground. I will have to buy those legs as well as I don't want wood that will rot.
I started on May 17th and this was the very first beginning, the front of the bottom cathouse:
Even though it wasn't much yet, I was thrilled!!
I kept working diligently and finally had this:
As you can see there's an opening in the back to the right so the cats can move from the bottom house to the one on top.
Just so they have a 2nd exit which feels safer. Otherwise they could end up trapped if another cat comes sniffing at the door.
Then I wanted to see what it'd look like when done so I started painting, even though I hadn't finished everything yet:
Currently I'm working on painting both roof sections and the sides. I have to do that on both sides, inside & out, to make sure the hardwood multiplex plates I use for these parts don't bend. Without paint they would when they'd get a bit damp outdoors.
Today I put the painted roof and sides in just for the photo. I still have to paint the insides of them so they're not properly attached.
I was just curious what it'd look like :)
