Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped away [unnoticed] since there was a crowd in that place.

What are you saying, that this is not the real Jesus?

OMG, churches all over the US are going to go bankrupt if that gets out.

i think so too. everyone believes something by blind faith. even believing buddha was spiritual is blind faith. we can't know. he could have been an egotistic narcissist and self centered, a controlling others freak and power hungry and not spiritual or loving at all

look at all the cult leaders who preach love and are just crazy like jim jones. jim jones taught that the "Divine Principle" equated with love, and love equated with socialism, unselfishly helping others.

taking all the blind faith and cultural programming out of it, look at the facts, buddha left his wife and child, ran away from his royal responsibilities, claimed to know some great thing, and gathered a bunch of people around him who he bossed around. made them follow his strict rules about sex and everything else.

i wonder if it is possible for anyone to not take some things by blind faith? we take the fact we are alive by blind faith. how can we know for sure any of this is real? it appears and feels real, says our brains anyway. is that table really there? just because i can see it and feel it? who knows? it's all just a bunch of atoms, me, you, everything

our parents tell us that thing is a table and we take it on blind faith that is what it is

I disagree. There is no such thing as absolute proof. Remember how when you dream you believe that dream to be your reality. There is no possible proof that what's happening to you while awake, or while you have any kind of experience it isn't a similar state to a dream. You can honestly believe that you experience the truth, but to believe that is faith (a.k.a. no-proof).

Because this is a Christian forum the most basic tenets should be remembered. First is that faith comes by grace.....it is a breakthrough moment that is a gift of God. I see no difference between faith and blind faith....like the verse from Amazing Grace...”how precious was that hour I first believed”. The definition for being a millionaire is having a million dollars. How it was acquired does not invalidate the reality. We are tempted to believe that faith comes by works....that seems fair. But at this moment God is the great equalizer....

Humility is the key......I could provide the verses that indicate that grace is contingent on humility......

How nice the world could be, if we seen more fruits of humility.

............... which is a lot better then 'hating' this religion and that religion.

Tolerance......... could go a long way.

People would like to see change in the World
and that comes about by 'me' making the first move.

Hey, that was a great question.
You're right there's a lot of channeled stuff from Jesus.
All I can do on that is follow the wisdom, test it...and there is a lot to test.

Did you know there's more than the Course that ACIM people believe is a continuation?
"The Way of Mastery', 35 chapters or Lessons.
Who knows. So I can't say if it is from Jesus ...But it really is from some brilliant mind!
And a strong, clear, loving mind.

Lol, well those car buyers are ...well, not as smart as me ---
gotta look under the hood, C'mon.

I did believe in God with fervent blind faith - felt good inside, too.
It was a feeling - but it was basically made up.
Loving an idea from a book - wanting to do good because of pleasing this
imaginary Superior Being...good times...
hopeful, even dreamy. Kept me outta trouble, too.

But then out of nowhere - zap - He downloaded Divine Insights into my head. Amazing Grace.
Again and again...nothing like direct exp to solidify things.

Now that is a good post! Hope it gets people thinking.
I was shown the first time when I was 8 years old ---all this we see is a dream.

Of course, later quantum physics came into play and we know that nothing is what it appears to be ---
it's atoms 'congealing' (taking shape) to look like that table.
Might as well be a flock of starlings in the sky forming the face of Abe Lincoln ...that's how real the table is.
Yup. God the Cosmic Shape Shifter.

My main belief system is Animism (Spirit is in everything). Even with that simple of a belief system, you can get hung up as to what is Spirit. Then it generally defaults to 'just is' or 'who knows'.

Many have tried to nicely package various belief systems but at the end, we can't prove nothing. It is like being in a dark box with no windows/doors for all of your life and you get the bright idea you want to describe what is outside the box. But before you can do that, you must come to the realization you are in a box which in of itself is probably impossible to do.
