Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Well, if you're talking about me...I don't ques or lament or deride it, exactly ---I don't care for it, as I said.
Direct exp is superior.
If people want to settle for blind faith fine...I would like to see the puppy myself before getting it ...
not hear about the puppy or see a photo. Replace that with a car if you want.
Replace the example with God.

Seeing, experiencing anything directly is superior than hearsay.
Even seeking to exp something directly is superior than not.
If you don't agree - ok.

What drives one soul/jiva/individuated being to seek direct experience and another satisfied with faith alone? You got me, but I'm convinced it's one long slog of a continuum and when the time's right the seeking begins in earnest though that too is most likely a very long slog. Whatever the case might be we have infinity to work it all out so there's no real rush, right?

If God is unknowable at some level in his fullness then it seems to me that we are all at different levels of blind faith. As soon as our pride and egos convince us that we know God our search is in danger of stopping. At this stage perhaps our humility disappears and our ‘search’ from this point will be fruitless.

We have endless threads such as: “Does God exist ?” or “Is reincarnation real ?” There is a large amount of blind faith at play in both instances to answer in the affirmative or negative.

I have some shame from the past in judging those with ‘blind faith’.....little old ladies in the church who were as loving as could be and totally at peace with themselves and the world. It is possible that some as those have found “the peace that passes all understanding”. In retrospect they have given me much.....I have to ask myself.
.....”What have I given others with all my knowledge ?”
I don't do ' Blind Faith ' either Mo but that doesn't mean I deride it. If I haven't experienced it then it's ( Whatever it is ) is just word...

You and I have to talk! Any chance you're from NY?
No maybe about it --they lift pens and put on velvet or satin robes.
Just like a banker's hands, btw. Lol.

What 'drives' the belief in kamma, re-birth? Is it not ' Blind Faith '?

If it is not ' Blind Faith ', then what 'drives' something that can not be proven?

That's how I think. No rush. Faith with no direct personal exp is fine for some for awhile.
One day, years to come, they might say , "Hey, I'd like to exp this Creator up close and personal."
And a change in direction occurs - tho, the same path.
It's all good.

Slog?
