Thanks Simon. I knew I'd set myself a difficult challenge when I chose the peony. 
I like that you've 'meddled' with yours. The background is a totally different colour...and to me the flower looks like it's in a desert. And the petals almost look like they're made of material.
So pleased you stepped up to the challenge. I hope the next one isn't quite so hard.

Thanks Sarah 
I used a lot of paint on the petals, trying to get a bit of texture into it ....... couldn't get the shading of the light right, so I thought I'd slap it on thick and see how it came out ......

Oh God, did I kill the Art challenge?

Alright, how about this peeps?
I can't say my integrity with this project is at the same space as my intention to do, nor my allocation of time, but feel free to give this a go, would love to see what you come up with.
