There are scams and ripping people off in so called reputable business’s everywhere, lying, cheating people of their money.

You are correct mediumship etc will generally be considered a spiritual area and there will be many scam artists who pretend to know what they are talking about and give the whole concept a very bad name. This makes it difficult for anyone who believes.

I think a voice, a spectacular singing voice, is s gift!
And what a gift!
Should they sing for free to crowds of people? Never making a living?
Making a living working at a Grocery Store?
( I think of B. Streisand, Elton John and his gift at the piano writing songs!)
Are they not gifts?
I understand some have their feet dug into the dirt and will not change their opinion,
but I still felt to give that perspective.

It happens often with mechanics!
It's fun to catch them..."Oh? I need a new water pump? Hmm, just had it replaced last month along with all my belts?"

Singers, entertainers and other professions should be paid. Everyone can hear and see their talent.
I am not against mediumship etc. It is easy for people to make up fake things. In Australia there have been a huge amount of people getting ripped off by scams.
I used to get scams every day or almost every day but I do not anymore as I do not answer the phone. If someone leaves a message then I get back to the person.

I have changed my mind. I think mediumship etc should get paid. It is up to people to do some research to find good mediumship etc. There is good and bad in every profession. The government cannot control everything we do. We have to take some responsibility for ourselves.
