Oh goodness ....
So now I get it.
You fancy a hug ????
Well tough. You got two ! LOL...
I see what you mean and it's understandable when you are young.
For us "oldies" , sex is way down the agenda .
For us that are on our last legs it's a case of "been there , done it, worn the t shirt "....
( And quite frankly a lot of it was disappointing between me and you but don't tell anyone !! ..)

I feel ya..
About hugging pets, it's less 'complicated', and often, they come to us for affection or attention,
they know us so well..
With people, I don't even know how to interact anymore, it's confusing..

Aww just caught the tail end of this conversation.
Altair. Hugs. Nah don’t really miss or think about them either. Maybe cos I lived with my ex for 20 years who never thought to hug me or anyone else. He was an emotional derelict ha ha. No honestly he really was and I got so used to not having that kinda thing that it would seem strange to have it now. So no don’t miss that at all.
Yeah I have read that it is very good for us and i can believe that as well, but in my case…….what you’ve never had, ya never miss.
Actually I’ve just realised that I get a hug off my mates when I meet up with them and that’s ok.

DesertR. Yeah I have the cat next door who comes around every day for a cuddle and and I really enjoy him.
I think the good thing about pets is that they give you lots of love and affection without wanting anything else in return (if you get what I mean) ha ha
Sorry, couldn’t help myself lol

How cute! I have the same thing with a cat who lives across the street.
As soon as she sees me, she comes running. What a sweetheart..
Ps: I know what you mean..

Cats a very territorial like that. I lived with a host family when I worked in France and they had three cats. The male cat was rather popular with all the female cats of the local area. One night he didn’t come back, and we didn’t see him for months. Turned out that he had ‘moved in’ with a family down the road because they were feeding him more.

I think many cats that are reported missing 'disappear' that way..

Got this in my feed, another perspective on being alone, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0Vn...el=SupremeYogi
Always fascinating how these perspectives are completely different from conventional 'wisdom' in society, whether it's about being alone, sex, or being very active. Society wants us all to be virile extroverts and if one doesn't or can't play along one is viewed as a failure. But is it actually a blessing in disguise? What IS actually making people happy? Life is just so strange..

Can't say I've noticed that there's a pressure to be a virile extrovert! I'm sure society values introverts e.g. their creativity.
Re. what is making people happy - in a consumer focused society, of course most think money is the key! Whilst it can 'buy' you more options/choice/freedom, the novelty of the newly acquired consumer good can be quite short and disappointing.
It often takes a major change/turning point, e.g. prolonged illness, coming close to death etc. for people to be more in touch with appreciating the value of life is in the quality of relationships and the joy of simply being alive (which most take for granted).
