That also sounds like a line from 'Frasier', funnily enough - 'Ethics are what we do when no-one else is looking', I think the line was.

So good, John Mahoney's delivery is brilliant What a great counter-point he was to the pomposity of his two sons, though I think Niles was my favourite, David Hyde-Pierce is just a great comic actor imo:
