Hi Mazulu,

I don't think that one has to choose between the two , Christianity and the occult, just my opinion.

Can you rephrase the " cognitive dissonance " comment for me please ? I am not sure I am understanding what you mean by that .

Dream Angel xx

cognitive dissonance? Sorry I don't understand that term can you explain? I am not a christian at all :/ not really a big religious fan either.

even if I was I still think watching ghost shows is okay. its not really occult it happens to everyone everyday. you know, hearing your name being called but no one is around? cold breezes on your arm/leg/back when your in a warm room with the heater on. seeing shadows in your peripheral view but when you turn to look nothing is there :)

I don't consider these things occult. Now trying to summon spirit/ghost entities is a different story but moving into a house and then realize it's haunted. I think haunted places should be considered paranormal not occult.

My grandpa died this year and he was a big christian even though he didn't go to church, but I doubt it is him.

False Awakening, sorry for the loss of your Grandpa ..... who knows, he might just be joining you in watching the ghost shows ? I do believe we can get signs from those on the Other Side.

Dream Angel and FalseAwakening,
Cognitive dissonance is a fancy psychological term which means that something bothers you and it won't go away, and it drives you nuts. It happens when two beliefs are in conflict.

Christianity is a jealous religion and doesn't want Christians to think about things like ghosts or the occult. Some things just don't mix, sorry. Christianity doesn't like anything occult or paranormal. It's just the way it is.

Thank you for explaining the " cognitive dissonance " phrase.

Yes, in general terms when speaking of the religion Christianity doesn't want one to mix..... however as an individual we do have a choice and if we choose to mix it up, we can do so .....unless one is an old fashioned Christian believer of the old school .

Yes you can mix it up. Many years ago, I tried mixing the Holy Bible and some sacred crystals to find out if they were compatible (in terms of "goodness"). It was like touching the third rail. There was an extremely powerful reaction. I was healed by the blood of Christ which was mixing with the White Fire. I was healed in a visceral way. But I was left with this impression of "blood magic" that I really didn't understand.

Oh I forgot there are a few anime shows (japanese cartoons) that are really nice and have spirits in them. Like natsume yuugincho. It's actually pretty nice and there's one called mushi-shi which is also a favorite of mine, even though they aren't real nd just cartoons its kind of refreshing to see people and spirits interact with one another nicely.

:) I'm all about New Age + Christianity...

In fact, the more I learn along this spiritual journey, the more I feel like the paranormal and supernatural not only complement Christianity but are a vital part of it.

I don't personally believe any religion has it "all" right, but if you look at the Bible, well, I mean come on... it's full of people receiving visions, dreaming prophetic dreams, having angels and guides guard and lead them...

If anything, I feel today's "Christianity" has totally lost touch with what Christianity was in the beginning :\
