The Geordies were/are the tribes who live in the far North-East of England, a mixture of Celt, Roman, Saxon, and Norse. The powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution - we mined the coal, smelted the iron, forged the steel, built the ships ! The language has many words of Germanic origin -haway hinny, Ah telt thee afore aboot taakin daft !
Ye naa Cheryl ? - Geordie to the roots !

Heraclitus
Niemand tritt zweimal in den gleichen Fluss,
den es ist nicht der gleiche Fluss und er is nicht der gleiche Mann.

I translated it myself and then checked what Babelfish comes up with, and that is pretty good.

Un homme ne fait jamais un pas dans le fleuve-même douxième fois, pour ce n'est pas la rivière-même et il n'est pas l'homme-même.

Translated myself- I cannot say it is perfect; I used two words for "river." Fleuve is "river" meaning "flowing into the sea" (and is masc) while rivière is "river" meaning "tributary" and is fem. You might probably use the second both times, so that "ce n'est pas" (this is not) can become "elle n'est pas" (it is not)

This translated back to English is closer to "A man never makes a step in the same river two times, for this is not the same river and he is not the same man." or something along those lines.

Note: I didn't reverse translate it in an engine lol, so if someone else would like to check me :) I believe there is at least one more way to translate it, using a different verb that might make the french sound nicer.

:) A very good quote. Putting in my favorite quotations list! Merci beaucoup!
