Field reporter goes from alleged, ostensibly open minded person to making some pretty hard and fast conclusions in record time. And all it took was a few guys to conjecture and assert an opinion or two with the help of some visual aids. Skepto-centric piece, featuring the smoking man from X-Files and some of the more popular skeptic/debunkers in the field. (Granted I have my own investment of bias too, which may hinder complete objectivity and be partly resp. for such a scathing review).

Makes passing mention of Roswell, shows some memory metal but doesn't get into any specifics. Hope this vid does not do undermine the skeptical argument side of the spectrum which tbh deserves as much consideration as the believers imo; at least for those of us who've not had the experiences to inform us directly. I'll continue my search for some quality skeptic pov material, which i do not doubt exists and should i feel get some representation in this thread.

Still very Interesting, and I find your approach objective for once. I mean, you of course give your clear opinion on the matter but you also don't hesitate to post links to videos showing people trying to debunk or barely Touch the depths of the issue.
I tend to get frustrated when I come accross these, but I respect the way you put things together, you don't hide the other side of the coin.

I have a question for you, do you think the whole UFO secrecy is happening for the only sake of a few greedy ones (macro economic system based on oil and gas) and the ones holding the religious authority ... Or do you think there are actual deeper concerns behind it?

Thanks Okhma, appreciate it. Yes, I figure skepticism is crucial given the nature of the subject itself. Not only in sorting out truth, validity, honesty on a case by case basis, but also in first hand alien encounter. If you receive telepathic messages or are standing face to face with 'them'; are they what they seem? Can we can trust what they say? That they are who, what, how they appear? If they've ships able to zip off at incredible rates of speed, become invisible, morph into different forms, etc. who's to know what other sorts of tricks they may have up their sleeve?

As to your question, I think it's an important one. As i eluded to in my rant post I think by their very nature, they are strange, enigmatic and mysterious. Secrecy may be a part of their essential quality.

Do I think there are deeper concerns? I do, b/c for example look at the abduction phenom. According to our human moral standards, it's not only invasive and intrusive, what they (allegedly) do is criminal. In the more dramatic instances you have kidnapping, physical &/or sexual assault. If we can blame them for cattle mutilations too then add stolen property, cruelty to animals, and probably some bio-hazardous materials, terrorism types of felonies to the list.

Many abductees think differently about their experiences later, but can we rule out something like stockholm syndrome from this to account for changes in attitude?

In a John Mack lecture, another researcher who was critical of Mack's work and believed sleep paralysis could explain the abd. phenom. did different tests in that vein to attempt proving his theory. Inadvertently, in the process he helped establish something i consider significant (if true). It was some electro-magnetic resonance meter reading data or something to that effect (can't recall specifically) that showed abductees display levels of trauma re: their experiences (again, from bio-field measuring device of some sort) comparable to the degree to which war veterans ptsd, victims of violent crime, etc. experience trauma.

For that alone, and skeptics can claim these alien abd. don't literally occur, yet still it remains that at times severe psychological trauma can result from such perceived encounters, real or imagined. Listening to Barney Hill's hypnotic regression tape, among other tapes fr. dif people, you can hear, feel how intense and upsetting it sounds in his voice.

On the other hand, a lot of times people that come at it from too much of a fear based mindset seem liable to get what they're asking for. There are plenty of cases of credible witnesses having positive encounters too. Betty Hill for example sounded as if it were an exhilarating, fun exp. for her, meanwhile her husband is going through terror over in the next room.

As to govt. secrecy, yeah i do think it's probably going on, to what degree, hard to say as how do you know how much you don't know if you've never heard of it before? Federally sanctioned research would provide a ton more cash and available resources if the ufo field was legitimized and taken seriously in an officially acknowledged capacity. That 'Tesla Coil Dampening Effect' very preliminary research done ref.ed earlier in thread, tesla, orgone energy, etc.

Then again, how do you get something so slippery, unpredictable like aliens into a laboratory? I guess cases of alleged implants having been run through every kind of scan and testing imaginable is 1 example, but the being themselves seem to dictate who and when. Who's to say it's necessarily of any benefit to investigate in the first place? That would be the less courageous stance to take, but perhaps in some cases the more prudent. Jacques Vallee wrote a book, 'Messengers of Deception', John Keel once remarked it was perhaps not advisable to get involved with at all. There certainly seems to be a sinister component to ufos, maybe they ought not be given any attention. Of course a number of other people say the opposite, and claim/ed to have integrated alien aspects into their lives in positive, healthy and beneficial ways.

I think part of the allure of power is the control. For the people in power to divulge their secrets could dilute and loosen up their control, and if you've built yourself up through such means, how desperately would you cling to it to maintain it, when you feel it slip? Losing control can be a helpless, scary feeling, esp. if the love vibe is so seemingly 'alien' to perhaps certain of such people/beings. Everything's perceived as a threat to their ego.

Underlying it all is information, power and energy imo. I think much like how we align in accord w/ our Spiritual values/principles is how also to approach ufology. Clear connection with a divine source to me is like the solvent solution for everything. I think disclosure, energetically speaking, will have greater probability of occurring en mass when enough people attune themselves in this sense, et's/ufo phenom, whatever it is, will play their part in the future,what their role is i have no clue, maybe it's all idle speculation on my behalf.

That was a complete and well argumented answer.
It's always been hard to answer with hard core truth when it comes to the UFO subject, simply because, like you underlined it, we rely on third parts statements and/or different perception of the phenomenon (previously driven by our conceptions or beliefs).

I tend to be optimistic regarding the matter, but at the same time I don't fall into the "fairies and butterflies" approach of it.

I am on another hand very interested by the technological aspects, it would drive civilization into a new era and a new conscious realisation (we are not alone in the universe). Once we go over that realisation, we can grow accordingly and challenge our unmeasurable ego.

Think I'm with you on the optimistic pov, while Keel & Vallee certainly to my mind aught to be given due consideration, these guys did their homework and were insightful, intelligent men in the field, (Vallee helped create the internet, Arpnet at least, which was a precursor to the internet) they were also involved in investigations of black magic, Vallee himself rubbed shoulders w/ practicing Satanists acc. to some sources, which gives me cause to wonder at possible negative influences on his/Keels work and assessment in some respects.

John Mack, a trained Harvard Psychiatrist who dealt primarily w/ alleged abductees himself seemed to in part conclude that this was a phenom that helped his patients expand their minds, themselves, their perception/conception of reality in some apparently positive ways. Budd Hopkins on the other hand who introduced him to the phenom. took a darker view of course, which also bears weight in terms of things to consider.
