Sounds like it could be applied to Spirituality.

Hi Greenslade. Yeah, it does!
I used to think about religion as groups that met in churches, synagogues, mosques, etc.
Also, I used to think I belonged to a cult...
But I realized "cultishness" or "religious" applies to most groups!
Maybe that's why I'm somewhat of a loner. lol
But I am all for "ardor" (fervor) & faith.

To me, religion, spiritual groups, or cults are very narrow.

God is the elephant and the religions are a parade of blind men. Each specializes in a particular aspect, but none have seen the whole beast.

Yes this so true, the only real Religion is found within our own Being, once we organize it we destroy it.

It is interesting to note that religion made us even more fearful than our fear from unknown.

Religion was created to honor God. It then turned corrupt and invented ways to instill fear in people so as to gain control over them.

I know! It was so hard to break free from the religion I was accustomed to. Just the simple fear of looking deeper. Being afraid that you'll be punished for your doubt. Most, if not all, religions I've studied on, can be traced back to the same source.

I'm thinking religion was created to make the 'higher ups' rich ---I'm
thinking
they were very smart - and with the tax exemptions now- I'm thinking of starting a religion with me as the High Priestess -
Hmm, "The Church of the Divine Yet, Perpetually Deluded"....no

The Church of the Perpetual Questioners of the Divine....better.

It's a work in progress, but there may be a storefront church I could rent - now, most of the MM, Medical Marijuana people
have scarfed them up --- I could use a backroom on a Sunday perhaps with the smell drawing parishioners in... yes...

It's all coming together -now, to apply for the tax exemption....

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
