A bit offtopic, but Shamans, Healers, and Medicine Men by Holger Kalweit is an amazing read if you're interested in Shamanism throughout the world.

I stand by what I said...........Shamans don't do that..................someone calling themselves a shaman might but shamans don't do that.

Shamans definitely aren't supposed to.

It's likely that this lady calls herself a shaman but is just a malicious psychic. I don't know. If I find out more, I'll post it.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Is it just a cooincidence that you are into Shamanism and your dads ex-wife has a friend who happens to claim to be a shaman?

I'm not into shamanism exactly. I'm taking a class on various spiritual leaders, like shamans and mystics. I know this sounds weird, but one of the reasons I am so astounded by this situation is that I have never encountered anything having to do with shamans before, and now, while I'm taking a class on it, this crazy situation happens!

The two things have no causal relationship in the physical realm, as my family usually has no idea which classes I'm taking in school, much less my dad's ex-wife.

It seems like a big synchronicity - which, interestingly enough, I'm actually reading about synchronicity right now as well. Wow, the Universe is amazing!

I agree shamans don't practice in harm. Witches who go against the Rede or don't abide by it are more likely candidates for putting curses.

If your dad believes he is cursed then he draws negative to him. It's very much like the saying of sticks and stones. It is all in the way you give it the power.

I've been a witch for near 30 years. I'm SURE someone somewhere has cursed me lol It hasn't affected my life at all because I don't give them NOR it power.

Medium_Laura, you're definitely more knowledgeable about this than I am, so maybe this is a witch. We have just found this out today, so I don't know what he believes.

What do you do to ward off negative intentions? We had no knowledge of this before, so our ignorance was even better than ignoring it. Yet I think their determination to do us harm may have done things in the past.

And thanks a lot, WhiteShaman!

Laura, bad things happen in life. It's just the way it goes. It does not mean a curse has been placed. What I sense is this... dad may be having some lessons (bad luck) that he may have spoken about and then the ex finds out and tells someone.."Oh good! I've been cursing him for years!!"

Her EGO is taking the credit for things that just happen. I can bet you she's had her fair share of **** in this lifetime, merely by her nasty and vindictive attitude. I'm sure your dad or anyone else has not been cursing her...

Positive thinking will ward off anything. You counter negative with positive. So... send this woman and the so called Shaman LOVE... blessings.. light.. but you have to MEAN it. :) Love conquers all isn't just a saying <3

EDIT: after I left this post I just heard this.... She lies so badly all the time, why now would you take a chance to believe her. She doesn't even know shaman's don't use curses. My guides are laughing.

To bring comfort, you can visualize a white bubble surrounding your home and loved ones, as previously suggested. It's a way of reinforcing one's own personal power.
