I find it is safer to say “I am God’s body/soul”.

That seems too simplistic. Where was God's love during the Holocaust?
Why is there so much evil in the world? Why do bad things happen?

God saves one soul at a time. If you go to God you are saved.

You know Honza, there are many people who hit that brick with their heads.

You have to change your thinking and to learn about God first.
Your thinking has to go along with this:

If God, The Eternal Love, would believe in such things as a war, it would never end, once begun. And yet, every war has ended. Every !

Switch the Word God with the word Love, then think:
"Love did not created such things, Love does not maintain it."

You might be tempted to ask: "Yes but who did it then ?"
Let me give you an answer in pseudo biblical way: "Look i'm talking with you, now. We two are alone in this conversation. My Finger is pointing at someone, and it is not on me."
Notice how i do not cast any blame nor fear nor guilt.

Some people may have been preaching that you shall fear God. Some preacher might have leaved the imprint that the "holy" one is just like a "Dictator" filled with "anger" and in need of control.
If God were like that, then, indeed, no wars could be started. But as you know, in dictatorship there is no freedom.
And God is total freedom.
Therefore i would suggest that you learn what God as Love is.

Only you can make this decision, and only if you do, you might get the answers to why the past happenings (which are clearly only in people's memory) have happened.

Edit:
And you can do it: You have plenty of examples from the past.

Look for e.g.:
What do people do when they get angry ?
What do people do when they fear ?
What do people do when they have guilty feelings? (look on doings, not on forced resignation)
What do people do when they get the violent emotions ?

Then look what they do when they love ... (well, do not look on the foolish things these may belong to the above)

The unasked question is: "What do people do when they think that (insert anything from the above questions, here) is their God".

I suppose it seems daunting if you see God as the almighty being which is out there somewhere. So an authority & power being that's outside of you.
Then you're likely not yet able nor ready to connect with your I AM body/being.
That's not a judgement but it means you will need to do more work on Self first so you can trust and surrender.

I AM is not saying "I AM God".
It's connecting with your Monad.

The truth is, that your spirit being is living inside God, not outside.

When you came out, from your mothers womb, this is the knowledge that you automatically bring with/in you.

It is easy to see how a confusion of an outside god arises.
On the material plane it is easy to displace God as being outside.

Therefore some people view the Nature as their God (which is partially true because their bodies do live there and obey it's commands)

What no one tells you that you, the spirit you, is the whole, of what you call, the universe.

Monad?
noun: monad, a single unit; the number one.
Philosophy - (in the philosophy of Leibniz) an indivisible and hence
ultimately simple entity, such as an atom or a person.

Honza, I love ya, but c'mon, that gues has been asked 100xs here
and answered by many people in many diff ways...there are so many books on why.
You could even google it - the opinions go for pages, ad nauseum*.
It's a question pontificated on for centuries by scholars and master minds and yogis.
Find something that clicks with you.
I don't mean to be rude and I'm not saying this as a Mod ---personal opinion only.

*adverb: ad nauseam
referring to something that has been done or repeated so often that it has become annoying or tiresome.

Honza’s question is known as the Problem of Evil. There is no commonly accepted solution to it. You can find it here:
