When I was a Child, Richard Nixon was the President and the Vietnam War was happening. Puritans expressed disgust at Elvis's gyrating hips, And Flower Power was the order of the day.

When I was a kid, my eyebrows were so thick that my teacher (who without her bifocals was basically blind) could see them without glasses!

Talk about having it rough...lol true story.

Seriously, when I was a kid, I tried to fit in as best I could, but never seemed able to....I was different, inside and out. Don't think I fit in anywhere now either...

I guess I wasn't one of those kids with a million toys. But I had some and treasured them, to the point that I still have many of them although they are showing very much wear and tear and technically quite broken. A couple of toy guns, three or four cars, a plastic indian chief feather crown, a tiny spaceship. They were portals to other times and places regardless of the bits and pieces of them that eventually went missing. I guess boys never really grow up, we just get old enough to get some of the real things.

Out of all the toys I had when I was little, the only one I treasured was my Barbie Horse which my dad bought for me in 1972. Most kids had a favourite stuffed toy or doll, I had my horse, which I carried everywhere with me, even took it to bed with me. Its joints are now rusted, 1 leg is missing, and all of the accessories have also gone missing over the years, but I still have the old toy stored in a box in the attic.

So true.

I'm not able to post a picture of mine but this is what it looked like when it was new:

We didn't' had a million toys either WhiteWarrior but we treasure the ones that our parents got for us. Like the plastic soldiers, marbles, legos, my dolls. Till the Atari games came out and then Nintendo and that's when we where clue to the TV. The times that I cherish the most where playing with the inexpensive toys.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be all grown up.

So, one day, I snuck a razor and shaved my legs.

I knew my parents would spank me, so I got scissors and snipped very short pieces of hair from my blonde head.

I then got some elmers glue and glued the hair to my legs.

I lived in a tropical climate, but nobody noticed.

It wasn't until adulthood I told my parents. They laughed.

Yep, I'm all grown up now.... not sure why I wanted it so badly, lol.
