Sit or lie down on the floor. Ignore the cat. Read a book. Give it half an hour. See what happens. Better, report it here :)

Yep, lay on the floor propped on one arm reading a book say. Then flat on your back with sommat for your head. I bet before long she is walking on you.

Cats can be incredibly vain and will do their utmost to get your attention. Especially if you show indifference. It's worth a shot.

Yep tried that, she just likes it that way Yet she will follow Hubby around, and roll over for belly rubs, purrrrr just at the sight of him eeerrr!

Yes brushing a long haired kitten is wise, other wise later on she will not tolerate it, and it is the one thing she loves to have done... then I give her a treat, and she is off.... meeeeeeeeeeeeeowwwwwwwwww tried all that , it just becomes a stale mate!

Some cats are naturally aloof, if she's one of that kind there's not a lot you can do ...........

Try giving her a slow blink if you get eye contact. It's cat talk for I'm friendly. I do it to my cat and she gives it back. We call it cat kisses.
