There is no choice. No why. It's all pervasive.
If one was conscious enough to have a choice, there would be no identification.

Without identification to thought or form,
who would I be?

who?

(anyway I'm off on vacation, heard there's an opening for a monk.)

Hey there! I like that bolded line...It just seems right, LOL.

Welcome back Din (Din = the name of the form called Din that I am talking to) lol

I think taking a stand of not identifying with the form I see in the mirror is a sneaky way of identifying with it but as the one who identifies with not identifying with it...............lol

I think a better question is "Why solely/exclusively identify with form?"

James

yes, who would i be without any idea of who i am

who would i be if i were just the space in which all ideas about myself appeared

who would i be if i fully realized that all ideas about myself and the world are just that, just ideas and they in no way represented reality

then you would realize that all ideas about what reality is like are simply not true, they're just a point of view, as flimsy as a thought, as a whim, as i

my question feels better to me

why go with any interpretation whatsoever?

why go out there in the hot sun?

why not just stay in the shade?

(with no thought or interpretation whatsoever)

just be still

which is still saying too much

cause there's no one to be still

excellent question

who is doing this?

in fact no one is doing this

the whole point of this thread seems to be to get people to wake up to what is

and yet it's not true at all

there's no one asleep, no one who needs to wake up

and yet here this thread is appearing as if there may be a purpose to it

perhaps it appears for the simple purpose of being what it is

an expression of the One

Well how can I be sure I am not just thinking the sun is hot? I'd better go directly into the sun to find out for sure.

Because (I accept) we create our reality (including form) through our beliefs and thoughts ...

Maybe it would be helpful for you to explain what you mean by the word identify so we are all 'thinking' from the same place lol ...

If I wanted to achieve something in the full sun of the day (through thinking lol) which could not be undertaken in the shade (stilled mind) then yes, most definitely, i would venture out into the sun ... i would simply wear a hat :)

the key seems to be in the "we" in your comment above

who is this "we"

aside from a thought in your head,

a simple perception

It is the 'You', the 'Din' person, that returns to the forum to try to validate 'his' beliefs..

Be well, all else is..

I *think* I am going to avoid moving into the sun anyway, because I do *believe* it is very hot in there and I like ME very much!
