Not everything works for everyone, which is why the world is so abundant in healing tools and methods.

You are absolutely right. We see it all the time and hear it all the time. Some people just don't find massage as a way to relax. They might prefer a crazy night out on the town, to sit and read a book, to take a bath, or Reiki , or acupuncture. I could go on and on. You were getting massages as a child? Why? Anyway. You are correct. Massage DOSN'T have to hurt. I've had massages where the therapist just won't listen to me and ease up on their pressure, then I'm hurting for fricken days afterwards. Hate it.

Ah...I wasn't clear. I didn't get formal massages as a child. I was referring to "massages" of the type that parents do to comfort a child or as an affectionate thing. And by "affectionate" I mean a couple of shoulder rubs, not something inappropriate.

Oh! Thats understandable. I still cant massage my daughters. It takes about a minute, then it gets to tickle. I guess they just don't have the tension build up yet.
