the ancient city as a setting makes it feel like an "old issue" for you.
if the story of the dream doesn't feel like it is addressing things in your
life presently... it may be from a "different version" of you; a past life.

the running around and seeking feels like it's descriptive of
searching for a purpose in life, looking for an identity. the dream you
had found a place to be nourished, rest, and be employed; an identity.
your present circumstances don't seem to reflect that searching quality.
look to see if there is some "lost" aspect of you that is feeling disconnected
from the 'greater you'. (it might be providing you your spiritual vitality,
without your recognition (given only a spot on the floor to rest)).

Leaving the past behind, so to speak.

The dream also depicts prosperity.
Sounds like you were in a village about 150 years ago in Greece... the architecture you described still stands in my village :o

Even more interessting, that it could be a real fictional place especially i was never in greece but i very much love the ancient history.
